Scar ripped the headset off and climbed out of his Pod, rage burning behind his eyes. The moment he stood, his hand swept across the table—papers, bottles, and a controller flying in all directions.
"Argh!"
He ran a hand through his hair, breathing heavily. His jaw clenched.
That was the fifth failed attempt at Vulcan's Cave. Five raids, five losses. Weeks of planning, hours of grinding, and mountains of resources—all gone.
If he gave up now, the guilds would mock him for months. He was Scar, leader of Black Lion, not some nameless scrub. The face of the top guild couldn't afford defeat. Not on Hard Difficulty. Not in front of thousands of eyes.
He leaned against the wall, taking deep breaths until the pounding in his temples slowed.
The loss at Icy Cave had already damaged his mood. That dungeon wasn't even top-tier difficulty, yet they failed too. At least they weren't the only ones—word was, even Golden Phoenix had wiped out at Howling Canyon.
