"It's gone! It's gone!"
Everyone jolted awake to Hoggy's desperate shouts. The peaceful stillness of the desert shattered as tents rustled open and sleepy players stumbled out, hair messy and eyes squinting against the pale glow of the twin moons.
"What happened?" a man mumbled, rubbing his face.
"Where's the fire?" another woman yawned, clutching her cloak tight against the cold.
A third player blinked rapidly and shoved his glasses onto his nose. "What's with the noise? It's the middle of the night!"
Judging by the time displayed on their screens, it was just past two in the morning. The desert was freezing, the kind of cold that bit through thin clothes.
Hoggy stood near the bonfire, stomping his feet in frustration while holding his drooping ears. "My Hogs' food! It's gone! All of it!" he wailed, voice cracking with despair.
Ren groaned quietly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh right…" he muttered. "The Smiling Caravan quest."
