"What else do you want to talk about Ethan?" Joy asked surprising Ethan, he had not expected her to ask such a question as if she had somewhere better to be. He was sure all she wanted to do was go back to watching her boring cartoons.
"I don't know, what do you mean what else do I want to talk about, do you have anything better to do?" Ethan asked sounding offended.
"I don't know, I was just going to go and watch tv, I thought you maybe you want to go out with Pluto or go and practice surfing so you don't continue to wipeout." Joy said innocently.
If she could see Ethan at the moment, she would definitely run away. His frown was dangerous enough to kill a goldfish.
"We're you listening dummy? I can't go out without adult supervision so I'm stuck inside." Ethan replied.
"Okay, okay." Joy said.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" she asked, she had time to chat for a while before her mother would return and she would go and play with her.
"I don't know, anyway, what shows are you watching?" Ethan asked.
"Ooooh, I have many shows I'm watching, like the little sponge under the sea and the other one that cooks." Joy giggled.
"Those are all baby shows, what did I expect you to be watching anyway?" Ethan scoffed, for a moment there he had forgotten that he was speaking to a girl who was five years younger than him. She probably still watched shows that taught you your ABC's and 1,2,3's.
"I don't like it when you call me a baby Ethan." Joy frowned, she did not like Ethan being mean.
"Alright fine." He replied.
"So, what shows do you watch then?" she asked him.
"Shows that are actually good, where the main character fights everyone and always wins." Ethan said.
"I don't like fighting shows, they are too violent." Joy frowned.
"Of course, what do you expect when you're a girl." Ethan scoffed.
"I don't think that's why I don't like fighting shows. They have no music, no songs, it's always fighting." She frowned.
"Once again, you're a girl, I don't expect you to know good entertainment like that." Ethan said.
"But I do like the car show where everyone lives in Vroomville." Joy said.
"You watch Cars of Vroomville?" Ethan asked surprised. He had not expected Joy to say such.
"Mhmm, it's one of my favourites, the races are so fun." Joy giggled.
"I have to agree with you on that one." Ethan was surprised he was saying so. "That show is good, but I'm annoyed with it." He said.
"Why?" Joy asked.
"Because they ended the season and the new episodes are not out yet." Ethan frowned, the worst thing ever was waiting for your favourite show to release new episodes and they did not. Waiting was so painful and annoying.
"Ooooh, I did not know that they ended it. I am still on episode ten." Joy giggled.
"Lucky you, the season ends on a cliffhanger." Ethan said.
"What's a cliffhanger Ethan?" Joy asked.
Ethan sighed, once again, he forgot that she was a child. He had to explain everything to her.
"A cliffhanger is when something ends on a dramatic note and the audience get no answers which makes them worry as they wait for the next episode." Ethan explained quickly.
"Ooooh, so what was the cliffhanger?" Joy asked.
"I don't know if I should tell you. It will spoil the end of the season." Ethan said.
"Oooh, but please tell me, it's going to be a long time before I finish watching the Cars of Vroomsville and you made me curious, just tell me a little hint so I can know what happened." Joy pleaded, now that he mentioned the season ended with a cliffhanger, she could not help but ask what happened.
"Are you sure you're not going to blame me once I spoil it?"
"I did not say you should spoil it, just give me a little hint." Joy said.
"Are you sure?" Ethan asked.
Joy nodded and said, "Mhmmm."
"Alright then, you know that big race Wheelie enters?" Ethan asked and Joy nodded.
"Mhmm, yes the big race..." she said.
"Well, let's just say that Wheelie doesn't make it back home." Joy gasped hearing his words.
"He doesn't?" she asked and Ethan nodded.
"Mhmm."
"Why not, what happened to him?" she asked.
"You asked for a little hint and that's it." He replied.
"Aww, no fair Ethan, tell me please, tell me." She pleaded.
"Nope, just watch and find out for yourself." Ethan was adamant, he had a feeling Joy would be sad and start crying if he told her what happened and he would rather live the rest of his day in peace instead of being scolded by his mother for making Joy cry.
"You are no fair Ethan," Joy frowned.
"Nope, I am very fair, very, very fair." He said. "Anyway, I have to go now, my dad finally got back home, I'll talk to you later." He said.
"Okay, bye Ethan." Joy smiled.
"Bye." He said before hanging up.
Joy smiled to herself, she giggled and ran back into the kitchen to put the landline down. She ran back into the living room and climbed the couch got the tv remote and changed the channel.
She did a little dance when she heard the theme song of Cars of Vroomsville playing. She was going to watch all the episodes so she could find out what happened to Wheelie.
...
Lulu sighed, she parked her car and grabbed her stuff. She was hungry and most importantly tired.
This had to be the latest time she had arrived home from work. Usually she arrived earlier.
Lulu walked into the house and took off her shoes instantly.
"Aunt Lulu!!!" Joy shouted, she came rushing out and jumped on Lulu who laughed.
"Joy, my lovely niece." She smiled hugging her.
"Aunt Lulu, I've missed you, where have you been all day?" Joy frowned.
"Well, I was at work and I had to work really hard because I've been slacking off lately, but enough about my boring day, how was your day?" Lulu smiled as she walked into the kitchen.
"Aunt Lulu, I have two very, very good news to tell you!" Joy shouted.
"Two very, very good news?" Lulu gasped and Joy nodded.
"Alright, tell me, but first what did you have for dinner because I'm starving." Lulu said.
"Lulu, finally you're back, I was starting to get worried." Natasha said walking into the kitchen. She had heard Lulu's voice along with Joy's chattering.
"Yes Natasha, hello, why were you worried?" Lulu asked giving her a hug.
"Well I have every reason to be worried when your brother gets home from work earlier than you." Natasha laughed and Lulu did the same.
"You are right about that, maybe I was replaced by an alien or something." She chuckled.
"I doubt it, or else you would not have come to the kitchen without changing first." Natasha laughed.
"True, true, so... dinner?" Lulu asked.
"Don't worry, I saved you some pasta, I will warm it up for you, go get changed, you look tired." Natasha said.
"Awww, Natty, you are the best as always." Lulu gave Natasha one more hug before rushing out with Joy.
"So, my dear niece, what is the very, very good news you have to tell me?" Lulu asked, she placed Joy on her bed while she escaped to the bathroom to wash her face.
"It's very, very important and good news Aunt Lulu, so, I need you to be here and sit when I tell you."
Lulu laughed, she dried her face with a towel, her little niece could be so commanding sometimes, but it was cute.
"Alright, I'm here, I'm here, what is it?" she asked, she wore her sweatpants and jumped on the bed causing Joy to giggle.
"Don't do that when I'm not around, jumping on the bed is bad, bad and you did not learn it from me." Lulu warned jokingly.
Joy nodded and giggled.
"So, what do you have to tell me?" Lulu asked.
"Okay, so Ethan called me today and we were talking." Joy said.
"Aww, that is so sweet of him." Lulu smiled.
"Mhmm and I had so much fun talking to him and then we were talking about the Cars of Vroomville and he told me that the season ended on a cliffhanger because Wheelie did not make it back home after the race." Joy said.
"Oh no!" Lulu gasped. "What happened to Wheelie?" she asked.
"I don't know, I'm still watching to find out." Joy said.
"Aww, poor Wheelie." Lulu said. "I really love that cute, cuddly car." She said and Joy nodded, she loved Wheelie too, he was the cutest.
"Me too aunt, I just hope he's okay." Joy said.
"I am sure he is Joy." Lulu assured.
"And what is the second very, very good news? You said you had two." Lulu smiled.
