Chapter 1 - Prologue

Now: Prisoner on a Ship

Sapphire's P.O.V

My mind was a jumbled mess of thoughts and fear as the ship continued to soar across the galaxy. I had no idea where I was being taken but I knew it wasn't good.

My claustrophobia was starting to kick in. Every single minute I felt as if the walls were drawing closer and closer, making me feel jittery and uncomfortable.

A new fear reared its ugly head. The Darkness. It was unbearable...especially since I have been afraid of it for the past two weeks after sneaking into a horror movie back when I was a Glacierdyte. Bad mistake.

I had forgotten that I don't do so well in the dark just after watching a horror flick.

But now it truly felt like I really was in one of those movies. A helpless, confused girl being kidnapped by a malicious monster and being taken to who knows where; only knowing that it won't be pleasant. I used the small bit of Glacierdyte energy I felt surging through me to create a light source that lit the gloom. It didn't help my fear at all, just made The Darkness seem a bit more scarier. The Glacierdyte energy wasn't very powerful, which would have allowed me to escape easily if it was. So I was stuck in that cramped box....trapped like a mouse cornered by a hungry feline. A single tear streamed from my eye. I began to shiver. I'm sorry, Big-Chill...." I whispered, knowing I was in this mess because of my foolishness.
