Rose's POV:
Orange Puree unexpectedly tastes good! It's like a dark horse in my flavors list~
While savoring the food, I listened to Mira's talk about the empire. This way, I can gather Intel while keeping a low profile.
"The political situation is getting a bit scarier by the day, tens of people die everyday and there's even nobles being executed here and there." Mira sighed.
I guess it's because of the 2 imperial consorts and 2 factions going at each other's throats. Nobles being implicated is simply a tell-tale of the intensity of the battle, not foregoing the fact that it's the civilian that suffers the most. This Empire is so scary, no wonder mother said that to me.
Thinking about mother brings a bittersweet smile to my face. I focused more on the news so I can oblige to my mother's last words.
"On the bright side, the Magic Association developed a new magic instrument that assesses the level of latent talent for individuals in aspects of weapon mastery, body cultivation and magic practice."
This is a great news, now prodigies can be nurtured and this cam strengthen the overall power of the empire!
But this has its downside, inequalities can be highlighted more for people with mediocre talent.
And it won't be good for me! As a prince, or a princess rather... All eyes will turn to me!
This news almost made me frown but I held back so Mira won't worry further.
I started thinking of countermeasures for this....
First is my most sturdy backer in this Empire: My Uncle!
Just with this, my erratic thoughts finally calmed down.
But in this route, It can easily arouse suspicions of my uncle concealing my talent! We may be accused of rebellion!
This is a no go path!
Another choice is a deal with that sage who finds me interesting. But I need a bargaining chip to make the deal in equal grounds. Now, what do I have that makes it a fair trade....
