Seeing those flashing windows again brought a strange, unexpected warmth to his chest. He hadn't realised how much he missed the cold, mechanical feedback of the System.
A gut instinct told him this was only the beginning; he was going to see many more of these messages in the very near future.
"Is everything alright?" Olana asked, her eyes darting between Hye and the huddle of fearful leaders.
When she looked at the world leaders with her piercing, analytical gaze, they physically flinched. To them, her scrutiny was a death sentence. They began to murmur among themselves, desperately trying to figure out if they had inadvertently insulted the tyrant and how they might compensate him to avoid a sudden execution.
"Everything is… perfect," Hye said, taking a deep, slow breath. He closed his eyes, savouring the rush of power and the feeling of the new world's tether connecting to his soul.
