Hye's strategy wasn't to act like the other empires—maintaining a thin, overstretched presence across vast distances. His goal was to control a world, strip it of its valuable assets and people, and move everything back to his central territory.
Controlling a dozen disparate worlds without the proper means to defend them would be a grave tactical error.
He saw no point in having his influence scattered across the galaxy like a giant whose body parts were separated by light-years. It was inefficient and vulnerable.
If the worlds weren't close to his primary territory, he wouldn't bother keeping a garrison there.
Instead, his long-term plan involved building and preparing a fleet of artificial planets to accommodate the newly acquired races. Thinking about this only reinforced his need to acquire more artificial planet technology.
"At some point, I'll send my generals and my most capable talents to acquire these worlds for me," Hye said, his eyes fixed on the grand sector map.
