"There won't be anyone to save you this time. I'll show you what a real Saiyan is." With that, Raditz rushed towards Alex, who stood still as he blocked the coming punch with crossed arms, sliding back a bit.
"Is that all?" Alex said with a smirk while gritting his teeth, which shocked Raditz.
"What the?" Raditz said, as he couldn't believe a human who couldn't last a few seconds against him just a few months ago was now able to block his full-blown attack.
"Hmph, so you learned to block. Big deal," Raditz said as he started attacking in a flurry of strikes with wild energy. Alex blocked most of them, though some landed, starting to show some bruises.
Seeing this, Raditz tried to keep up the pressure as he attacked with a massive swing.
Alex easily dodged and punched Raditz in the face, sending him sliding back. As he came to a halt, Raditz was surprised to find some blood dripping from his lips. He wiped it and glared.
"You'll pay for this. I'll make sure of it!"
Saying this, Raditz rushed towards Alex, who also did the same.
They met in the middle and clasped their hands, trying to overpower each other, but it was futile as both were almost equal and couldn't push each other.
Instead, Alex pulled Raditz towards him and greeted him with a headbutt, followed by a punch to the side of his face, which sent Raditz flying. Alex rushed after him.
Raditz regained his senses midair, dodged the incoming punch from Alex, and kneed him in the gut, then hammered down with both hands, sending Alex crashing into the ground.
"Hmph, take this! DOUBLE SUNDAY!" Raditz shouted as he fired ki blasts from both hands. With a blast, the whole area was covered in dust.
"That's what you get for messing with a Saiyan warrior," he said proudly.
Just as Raditz was celebrating, Alex appeared behind him and grabbed his tail with both hands.
"What the? How did you…" Before he could say anything, he was slammed into the ground with full force by Alex, and with a spin, Alex threw him towards the forest.
Raditz went through multiple trees before finally coming to a halt.
Raditz slowly, with some struggle, got to his feet, breathing heavily as he looked towards Alex, who was just barely scratched.
"You… how did you get so strong in such a short amount of time?"
"You're a fool if you think everyone's gonna just sit and wait for Saiyans to show up and kill them. Everyone is training, including your brother and nephew, to fight against the Saiyans," Alex said.
"I'll admit it… you're strong," Raditz said as he clenched his fist. "But it's not enough to keep me down."
With that, Raditz rushed towards him as they started attacking each other. Although at first they seemed almost equal, with each punch and kick the gap in their abilities started to show as Alex began to dominate. With another punch dodged, Alex jumped and kneed him in the face as Raditz tumbled back a bit.
Just as he regained consciousness, Raditz got furious enough to see red as he started fuming with rage.
"Y-you, that's it! I've had enough of this nonsense! I AM ENDING THIS NOW!" Raditz said as he flew up into the clouds and pointed both arms towards Alex as the energy started collecting.
"DOUBLE SUNDAY!!" Then Raditz fired two energy waves as they merged into one swirling energy beam, tearing through the sky toward Alex.
Alex braced himself, sliding one foot back as he cupped his hands at his side. "Alright then… let's end this! KA… ME…"
The twin beams of Raditz's Double Sunday ripped toward him, lighting up the battlefield in purple and red. "HA… ME…!"
Raditz shouted above the roaring energy, "You're finished, human!"
Alex thrust his hands forward. "HAAAA!!!"
A brilliant blue Kamehameha shot forth, colliding with Raditz's Double Sunday. The moment they met, the sky detonated in a shockwave that shook the forest below.
Dirt blasted upward, trees bent, and the ground cracked beneath Alex's feet as the beams struggled for dominance.
Raditz snarled, pouring in more power. "Why won't you just lose?!"
Alex gritted his teeth, his arms trembling under the pressure as the purple-red wave began to push his Kamehameha back.
"Tch, no… not this time," Alex muttered. He dug his heels into the earth, aura flaring as he shouted, "I didn't train for months just to fall here!"
His energy surged, his blue wave brightening as it fought back against Raditz's attack. The gap shrank… then stopped… then slowly, slowly began to reverse.
"N-No! Impossible!" Raditz yelled as sweat rolled down his face. "A lowly human can't!"
Alex roared, his aura exploding around him.
"HAAAAA!!!"
His beam overwhelmed Raditz's Double Sunday, swallowing the purple light before crashing directly into the stunned Saiyan.
Raditz was consumed in the explosion, blasted out of the sky, and smashed into the ground with a thunderous impact that sent dust and debris flying into the air.
When the smoke finally cleared, Raditz lay badly injured, twitching as he tried to move, while Alex stood above, breathing heavily yet victorious. Alex stood over Raditz as he looked down.
"Just... kill me already and... get it over with," Raditz said, breathing heavily, but instead Alex kneeled. "You don't understand, Raditz. I'm not here to kill you."
"Hmph, spare me this nonsense. If you're not here to kill me, why are you here?" Raditz said with an angry face as he started to breathe steadily enough to talk.
"It's simple. I want you to join us and fight against the Saiyans. And also, I need a new training partner." Just as Alex finished speaking, Raditz cut him off.
"And disgrace my warrior race? I'd rather die than accept your offer," Raditz said.
"You know the Saiyans more than anyone. Do you really think that they will spare you even if you survive until the Saiyans arrive, even though you failed to recruit Goku?" Alex said, to which Raditz didn't say anything as he looked away.
"But maybe you will be spared… but what about Launch? Do you think you could protect her?" Alex said. After more silence, he continued, "Aren't you tired of just obeying orders? If you think about it, isn't this the best opportunity to earn your freedom?"
"Hmph, so what! Even if I do agree, no matter how much you train, it'll amount to nothing against a Saiyan elite," Raditz said, clenching his fist. "A low-class Saiyan like myself is nothing against a Saiyan like Vegeta. It's useless to struggle against something like that."
"You saw how we were able to overcome you, even though the gap in our strength was huge. And I believe we will overcome the incoming Saiyans too. I want you to be on our side when the time comes," Alex said as he looked towards the now-silent Raditz. "You know, if you think about it, isn't this the best opportunity to free yourself and also prove them wrong that you're not just some low-class warrior anymore?"
"Hmph, you talk too much for a human," Raditz said as he closed his eyes and then looked back at Alex. "But I agree. For as long as I remember, I've been too scared, too obedient but not this time. I want to fight them not only to prove myself but also to protect that woman."
"Well, it's decided then. Let's head back." With that, Alex and Raditz headed back to the cave.
