Once his wings, despite being entirely real and made of his own skin and bones, faded as if a mirage, and his horns receded into his head, Lex felt a deep mental exhaustion. At least the headache had disappeared, which was great.
There were still monsters attacking, but behind his shield, Lex was safe. Not only were none of the creatures as strong as Kreel, they weren't even strong enough to break Lex's barrier, so there was no real point in fighting them.
