Lex did not immediately jump to any conclusions. Even though there was a similarity, there were significant differences as well. To start with, instead of a notification appearing in his own personal field of view, this was more of a projection of a prompt.
From what he could tell, he would need to interact with it in some way to actually begin, or rather initiate the challenge. As far as he could tell, anyone who was there with him would have been able to see the projection as well, so it was not specific to him.
There was no notification sound that accompanied the appearance of the projection, though the fact that it appeared dead in front of him, and would move wherever he looked, meant that he wouldn't miss it. If he closed his eyes, then the projection appeared within his spirit sense, and if he sealed that it appeared directly in his mind, ensuring that any race, regardless of their senses, would have been able to interact with it.
