Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 Calm Before The Storm

"You seem distracted. What happened, Nobita." Dekisuki asked, approaching Nobita' side. It startled him, but calmed down soon after.

"Yes. We don't wanna pry and you have the right to do what you want. Just, let us know if we should be worried about it." Shizuka pointed out her concern.

Nobita looks at the over his shoulder and looks back at the spot he was glaring at. "Maybe something happening that's unknown to us." He replied.

Other three looks at him confused and looked at the hill Nobita was deeply focusing on. "What do you mean?" Shizuka wondered.

"I'm figuring out the same." He replied.

"Is it okay to letting us know? Anything?" Dekisuki asked.

Nobita sighed and points at the hill. "I don't know what to tell you. I'm just as confu-" Nobita' words cut short as the same glow appeared again. Only this time, it was brighter.

"Did you see that?" Dekisuki shouted.

"What is it?" Came Shizuka' question, indicating that she saw it too.

Curiosity got better of Nobita, who sprints towards the hilltop. Whatever it is, it sure bothered him for about three days and finally he got a chance to take a better look.

Others saw what Nobita did and didn't know what to do except yell at him. "WAIT, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" Before the three of them can speak, Gian' voice boomed. Nobita refused to stop, and speeds up.

"Where's he going? What happened?" Asked Suneo, as both boys halted next to them.

"We don't know. No time to explain. Should we follow him or not?" Shizuka said and ran after him, followed by Dekisuki.

"What do you think?" Suneo wondered looking at Gian, who shrugged. Before they follow, Gian also dragged Yumi with them. That's what he does all the time.

"HEY, STOP. LET ME GO." She shouted but it didn't slowed down the boys.

They trailed Nobita not knowing what's going on. Except for Gian Suneo, others knew what's going on.

A mysterious light appeared and vanished without a trace. At least that's what they think. Nobita ran as fast as his legs could take him, eager to know the origin of the bright glow he keep seeing. He ignored his friends' call, as he entered the narrow pathway leading up to the summit.

Halfway through, they realised how high the hill is than it looks. Nobita didn't intend to stop from just that and kept going, until he reached there. Gasping for breath and panting, the rest of the gang caught up with him. The first thing he saw there, obviously trees and bushes. What stand out the most is no bright light or something. Instead few distance away, black smoke could be spotted rising up and merging with air. Obviously that's not natural in any way. Unless someone or something did it. Forest fire cannot be the reason, because every part of the woods are moistened due to the rainy season. Only few scenarios remaining when forest fire not counted. But it still not answering their questions. What did they saw? Nobita amongst them is the only one keep seeing it until it possibly fell around here. An extraterrestrial mothership? A small meteorite that surprisingly didn't wiped out half the tokyo? UFO? All those are speculations with no back bone supporting it. Almost every theories have no logic. They just counted as the imagination of a deranged teenager.

"What's going on here? Why are we here?" Suneo shouts.

"I'm surprised you didn't saw that." Yumi scoffed wrapping her arms.

Shizuka looks at them and then back to Nobita who is again looking at something really interested. When following his eyeline, what she saw horrified her. Possibly a forest fire that could burn down the whole place. In really she only saw the smoke. "Who would do that horrible thing?" Shizuka questions and the rest of the gang saw what she's looking at.

Before any of them say anything, Nobita darts to the spot. He wants the answers. What really he's after? As far as he knows, something glowing up in the sky and falling down soon after isn't something happen often. It ain't normal. Only few occasions of his life he ever witnessed that glow, but can't pinpoint where did he saw it. Pink and purple light it illuminates, clearly resembles something he seen before. That's why he's so interested in catching up to the mysterious object of thing or whatever it is.

Eventually, he got there as he followed the smoke. What he saw shocked him. A clearing surrounded with trees and knee high grass flailed in the cool wind. Well, the remaining grass did anyway. What it meant is, the middle part of the clearing mostly burnt to ashes and small patches of fire slowly was spreading. If not quick, their fear of forest fire may actually come true.

"What's all this?" He heard Suneo squeak, meaning they also caught up with him.

"Who could do such a thing?" Shizuka repeated her previous comment.

"I don't think, talking over it benifit anyone. We should stop the fire spread as soon as possible." Dekisuki suggested.

"This ain't our place to jump in. I suggest call fire and rescue." Suneo said.

"But we don't have much time to wait for that." Gian replied.

"Well, what's possibly we could do? Blow air and prey for it to extinguish? If so, that's a horrible plan." Suneo said.

Nobita have his full attention to the spot and he seemingly examining every nook and corner. Aside from the burnt grass and disturbed soil, nothing was there. Until his eyes landed on small portion of the clearing where grass don't cover the ground. He saw strange marks. As if something got dragged on it. But focusing more, he saw handprints and come to a conclusion that somebody was crawling. It led his vision to another treeline across them. Somebody is there.

"Nobita, are you even listening?' Gian shouted shaking Nobita by his shoulder.

"Huh?"

"We said, let's go and inform Fire and Rescue. We can't let this fire grow any further." Gian explained.

Nobita sighed and shook his head. "No need. It's sorted." Nobita replied.

"What?" They asked in unison.

Nobita pointed up at sky and as 8f he's the almighty himself, a single raindrop fell, followed by the rest. In a few seconds, it started pouring. His friends stood there awkwardly and dumbfounded. "It was obvious if you're wondering." Nobita said seeing their expressions.

SCENE CHANGE- at a closed store entrance.

"Man, hope I could sneak in without mom seeing me." Suneo whined while he squeezed out water off his shirt.

"My mom's nothing better. I literally seen everytime, she grows up horns when she's pissed." Gian agreed.

"You two are too mean to your moms." Dekisuki chuckled.

"I'm lucky mine ain't around to kick my ass. Grateful and happy for that. Long away from home." Yumi said out of the blue causing everyone to look at her.

"You don't miss her?" Suneo wondered.

"Foolish question. Obviously not. You're the living example, right? Living with adults are curse. No freedom, no fun." She replied.

Nobita looks at her and then away. "You have no idea." He spoke.

"What did you say?" She questioned and glared at him.

The moment turned more intense and Nobita looks at her with an unreadable expression. "I missed some important people in my life. We're talking about a mother here. Carried an ungrateful child for ten months, and when that same child grew up she forgot how much that mother is suffering without seeing her daughter. On top of that, I don't know how your brother is without your mother. But I promise her absence will effect him too. And I swear, the way your thoughts progressing, they are just fantasies. Without any adults to guide you or any of us, we're pretty much doomed. Remember that." Nobita said, taking everyone off-guard.

Yumi couldn't speak for some moments until she snap out of it. Her facial expressions changed that of an angry one and she was just some moments away from jumping on him. "Oh yeah? Well, guess what? I don't give a crap. I don't want the likes of you ruin my peace. You're 'friends' are back with you doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. My life my rules. You can F off." Yumi shouted, crossing her hands and looking away agitated.

Next few minutes, nobody spoke except for Nobita who looks at her and sighed. "Just trust me, I know how it feels to be away from those who I care about the most. If your mother cares about you, I'm sure she feels the same." Nobita said. It shocked everyone. Not because he was angry or anything, no. It's just that, the way he spoke, you can feel his pain. Sure this version of Nobita is different, doesn't mean he no longer has that soft side on him. It's just hard to see.

Just like that, the first day of their new school turned out so different than any of them hoped. But unlike ever before, Nobita is cautious about what he saw.
