The distance between the two was less than a finger apart. Julian Sia could clearly feel her body stiffen and chuckled silently.
Looks like she isn't that bold after all.
Not far away, the three people in another car widened their eyes in disbelief at the scene.
"Isn't Julian moving a bit too fast?"
"Fast is good! Kiss today, and you can head to the marriage bureau tomorrow," Isabella Xyler excitedly clapped her hands, speaking without any restraint.
Mason Quinn shifted his body to the side, trying to distance himself from her, "You're really crazy."
....
Claire Green pushed him away and got out of the car.
She didn't even spare him another glance.
Pushed away, Julian Sia leaned against the car, one long leg bent, watching the angry and embarrassed back, a low chuckle escaping him.
Looks like I'll have to coax the kid next time.
...
"Julian, how do you feel?" Back at Moonwater Court, Mason Quinn winked at Julian Sia.
Julian frowned, "What feeling?"
"Like, how did it feel to kiss the young lady?" Isabella Xyler pushed Mason aside and leaned in herself, eyes shining with curiosity that was hard to conceal.
This was the first time Julian had blossomed like this, guess no one would believe it if it got out.
Julian had a cold look in his eyes, "You guys have such vivid imaginations, do you want me to send you off to write books?"
The two laughed awkwardly, "No, really, there's no need for that."
Seeing the two awkwardly eating humble pie, George Xyler walked over with a smile and sat down.
Serves them right, it's not like we can watch Julian's gossip.
Seeing him, Isabella's eyes darted and she blinked at him.
But George Xyler acted like he didn't see it, and even added fuel to the fire with glee, "I think Julian's got a point, you guys would indeed be good at it."
"You're truly my good brother." Mason gave him a sideways glance and said gloomily.
George just chuckled, then looked seriously at another person, "Do you realize how dangerous you were today?"
Being questioned, Isabella lowered her head guiltily, "I didn't expect it to turn out this way either."
"Then why don't you tell me what you were expecting," George Xyler looked at her angrily.
Isabella's little face fell, remaining silent.
Seeing this, Mason hurriedly intervened, trying to change the subject, "Alright, what's your plan about this matter?"
George Xyler spoke unhurriedly, "I heard that the House of Goodman is rapidly mobilizing funds to bid on the project above. Since George Goodman doesn't care, they shouldn't even think about the project."
"The House of Goodman really got screwed over by George Goodman this time." Mason shook his head, pretending to empathize.
Julian Sia crossed his legs, a cigarette between his lips, with a lazy stance, "Give that project to the House of Goodman."
Hearing this, the two looked at him, puzzled.
"The project has issues. The House of Goodman can't handle it," Julian extinguished his cigarette, his voice extremely flat.
Julian's words were never doubted by George Xyler and Mason. If he said so, the project definitely had problems.
Isabella sat on the side, dozing off yet trying hard to stay awake.
"Isabella, go home tomorrow," George Xyler said to her, still with a somewhat stern face.
At his words, Isabella was startled awake.
She rolled her eyes at George Xyler, "I'm not going home, I'm going to school with the young lady."
"No way."
"It's fine."
Two different answers.
George Xyler looked shocked, "Julian, you're aware of her knack for causing trouble. If she really goes, it'll be endless trouble in the future."
Isabella, seeing him badmouthing her, pinched his arm hard and pulled a face at him, "Anyway, I'm reporting tomorrow."
After saying that, she cheerfully ran off.
...
The next day.
Grace Carter entered the classroom with a female student and tapped the desk, "We have a new classmate in our class today, everyone please welcome her."
Everyone instinctively turned to glance at Claire Green, then at the girl on the stage. It's been pretty trendy for beauties to transfer recently.
Upon entering, Isabella saw the person she wanted to meet right away and playfully winked, "Hello everyone, my name is Isabella Xyler, and I'll be studying with you all moving forward."
John Sinclair was already feeling suspicious when he saw her, and hearing her name confirmed his guess.
But why would someone from the Xyler family come here?
"Teacher, can I sit with her," Isabella pointed to the back, speaking up first.
Grace Carter looked over and saw a delicate face, feeling a bit troubled.
"I refuse," John Sinclair placed his hands casually on the desk and flatly refused without giving any face.
Rejected, Isabella wasn't angry, instead, she smiled, her fair face showing two dimples, making one want to poke them.
"Classmate Xyler, sit beside Sebastian Winn," Grace Carter assessed her height and chose a seat based on the situation.
Seeing the spot, Isabella's eyes brightened more. Being in front of the young lady, it was almost like they were desk-mates through approximation.
With that thought, she walked over with a quick step.
"Why do I feel like the newbie is looking at Olivia with a strange look," Sebastian Winn accidentally pointed out the truth.
"Right, you think she's up to no good too," John Sinclair nodded in agreement.
Claire Green, on the other hand, remained calm, not sparing any glances at the newcomer.
"Hello, young lady, we meet again," Isabella leaned over eagerly right after sitting down to greet.
Suddenly, a head appeared right in front, Claire Green furrowed her brows and shifted her position, lounging lazily on her chair.
Seeing the girl, Claire Green thought of that alluring and tempting man.
"Isabella, why are you here," John Sinclair reached out and pushed her head, trying to push her away.
Isabella rolled her eyes at him and stared at Claire Green with sparkling eyes, "To find the young lady..."
John Sinclair: "Olivia, do you know her?"
Claire Green's dark eyes were bright and gleaming as she smiled wryly, "I don't know her."
"..." Isabella looked at her with a grievance.
"Then why does she look so abandoned," John Sinclair gestured at her, looking incredulous.
Claire Green spoke nonchalantly, "She just got cheated on, there's nothing more abandoning than that."
Upon hearing that, Isabella's head hit the desk.
Let's not talk about this, maybe we can still get along.
John Sinclair clicked his tongue, "Miss Xyler got dumped for once."
"Move aside." She replied in annoyance and then with a gentle tone looked at Claire Green, "Young lady, what's your name?"
John Sinclair was speechless, this double standard was too obvious.
Am I not deserving of gentle treatment?
"Pfft—"
Even Sebastian Winn couldn't help but laugh, here's another person taking John down a peg.
"Claire Green."
"Olivia, why are you staying at a hotel and not going home," Isabella pondered, after seeing Claire Green at the hotel twice. She asked with a puzzled look.
Hearing this, Claire Green froze, someone had said these same words to her in her previous life.
Recalling her time hiding away at that old man's lab, he'd frequently say, "Why are you always here, aren't you going home?"
"Olivia, what's wrong," John Sinclair saw she gave no reaction and waved his hand in front of her eyes.
Returning to her senses, Claire Green wearily rubbed her brow, "Nothing."
