Chapter 27 - The lady of the green 1

It was mid night, between the time of dusk and dawn.

Andrew felt hungry, he was literally starving for two days, and if he did not eat today, it is going to the third day of his starvation.

He was this much hungry that his body felt sleepy and lifeless. Andrew was dehydrated, he haven't drunk a drop of water since that day.

Feeling helplessly hungry, he decided to sneak outside his room.

Slowly crawling down his bed, he came to the main door of his room, carefully turning the knob around, he opened the door with a slow creaking sound, the lamps was lit in the corridors, the fire in the lamps flickered with the passing wind in the corridors, the dim burning fire in the lamps enlightened the corridors.

"The window in the corridor must be left open"

Andrew thought, looking the other side of the corridor, it was hard to do so, as it was dark and dim in the corridors and seen from a distance, it was fully dark.

Coming back inside his room, he grabbed one candle, Slowly, locking the door behind him, he walked through the corridors.

The wind which was fast in the corridors like any other tunnels, Andrew decided to close that window first and then continue his mission on finding food.

Walking to the other side of the corridor, while holding the candles in his hand, he walked going against the wind.

The flame of the candle, flickered as Andrew was going against the wind, while holding a burning candle.

To protect the flame from dying out, he blocked the wind coming from the the flame from the front and when it was fine now, he walked ahead.

Sometimes he would stop and look at the flame of the candle, if it was doing fine or he was going to fast.

Keeping his steps careful on the floor, he finally reached the other side of the castle, and as he thought, the windows was left open.

"Someone must have forgotten it, or who would let the window stay open in the night, if it wasn't on purpose"

Andrew thought.

"On purpose, yeah, I shouldn't close the window then"

Andrew left it open, thinking it was on purpose.

He stayed there for some minute, looking outside.

He placed the candle on the corner of the window and stared outside, looking at the vast sky.

It was full moon, the stars was twinkling in the sky and bats was flying in the sky, the blue moon light painted the whole garden and the whole world blue, the whole place was drowned in the sparkling blue colour. It was like the god had painted the whole world with watercolours. How unrealistic the world looked like was just mind-blowing.

The light breeze, which entered through the window, would touch the locks of Andrew, embracing his body, the small locks of Andrew slightly moved backwards as the breeze touches his body and hair.

Remembering that he had to find the kitchen, before morning arrives, he picked up the candle and walked with the wind.

Sneaking inside the castle, with his steps being soft on the marble floor, he tried not to make any sounds.

While coming down from the stairs, he walked with the wall, his hand sliding across the walls and his eyes looking down at the steps of the stairs, the illumination from the burning flame reflected his silhouette, on the walls behind him.

The blanket, he grabbed with him, so he can protect himself from the cold winds in the corridors, slide across the stairs, following his every step.

He had the blanket covering his head and wrapped around his body to protect himself from the cold winds.

Coming inside the kitchen, the first he did was to search for food.

He placed the candle on top of the cupboard and searched for food.

Looking every corner, he finally found something suitable to eat, the bread.

Biting the piece of the bread, he chew it, crashing the bread between his teeth.

His one hand holding the blanket in place and another one holding the bread.

He froze when he saw the previous green flame through the kitchen window. The green fire burning in the mid air like before as if the green light saw Andrew staring at him, that green light went farther inside the garden, hiding betweens the trees.

He picked up the candle and while holding the piece of bread, he rushed outside

When he came outside, there was no need of the light from the candle, it was already bright outside due to the moon light.

Following the burning green light, he went farther inside the garden.

When he reached the spot the green light was there anymore, a old lady in her 60's was sitting on the bench, her eyes looking up the sky.

The clothes she wore was old fashioned, but surprisingly, she did not had any wrinkles on her face or on her body.

Due to her clothes and the style of sitting, she looked like a lady in her 60's, but when you will ignore those facts, she will look like a lady in her 20's, no wrinkles, no sign of ageing, no white hair, her posture being correct and her hair black and long.

She turned her head to look at Andrew, who stood there watching her enjoy the view.
