"Well, Hougyoku seems to be reacting to... her." Urahara said as he pointed the glowing orb at Rika while trying to stay as far away as he could from her, it was lowkey hilarious. "So it should be possible for it to destroy the boundaries between Shinigami and Hollows and turn her into an Arrancar."
"That's good to hear." I said as I rubbed Rika's mask, the enormous Hollow leaning into the touch with a purr of contentment. Though for some reason Urahara looked creeped out by the sound.
Eh, what would he know. This was the guy who thought it was a good idea to get Kurotsuchi out of the Maggot's Nest.
Then again, Nemu existed because of that decision so there was certainly a chance to argue whether it was the right one.
Big boobed kuudere girl with braid who acted like an obedient secretary at the cost of many crimes against all sentient life that Mayuri committed to get hard... it was a hard choice to make indeed.
"So what are we waiting for?" I asked with a raised eyebrow as I gently pushed Rika towards Urahara, who immediately took a step back in response.
"Yeah, no. I can't just use it in the open like this! You got any idea how many dangerous this is?" Urahara asked as he threw the mentioned dangerous 'this' up in the air and clapped his hands twice, making one of the rocks near them move and reveal a secret tunnel. "I need barriers and some privacy to do this."
"And you think I'm actually gonna leave you alone with that jawbreaker after all the shit that happened due to your idea on how to get rid of it?" I rolled my eyes and pointed at Urahara, creating a gravitational pull to take the orb back from the shady shopkeeper who could only squawk at my act. "This stupid pebble is not leaving my sight."
"Well, that makes things quite a bit harder for me." Urahara said with a sniff. "And by that I mea... what are you doing?"
"Trying to have it activate." I said as I pressed the orb on Rika's skull and slowly started to feed my own spiritual energy into it, ignoring whatever Urahara was saying as I focused only on Hougyoku and Rika.
The damn orb that Urahara created, and then Aizen copied for himself, was told to be an object that responded to one's desires and turned them into reality. That it was the reason Chad and Orihime had powers of their own.
I called bullshit on that.
Literally an arc later, it was shown that what Chad and Orihime had were Fullbrings. Which I now knew to be an ability people could have if they had a shard of Soul King's body, like a nail or a drop of blood or etc. Meaning that Hougyoku had not just made powers for them out of nowhere. I had a theory on what it really did but I had no way to prove it and felt like it would bring far more trouble than I wanted to deal with.
But considering the way Aizen's own evolution and defeat had happened, it certainly was triggered by one's desires. And right now, what I desired was only one thing.
For Rika to become stronger!
And then the Hougyoku started to glow.
It also seemed to make every light around me dimmer.
Yet I could not give too much attention to that paradox as the black spherical part of the orb started to liquify and move towards Rika, the light finally becoming far too bright for my eyes as the substance made contact with her.
When I opened my eyes and blinked away the spots, there no longer was an eldritch monstrosity in front of me.
Instead what stood before me was a girl who barely reached the middle of my upper body with long brown hair. If I were to be generous, I would say that she was around a hundred and fifty centimeters, or around 5 five feet in American.
She was also completely naked with the only thing that could be considered clothing being the hairpins on her head that I could only assume to be the fragments of her mask.
"Rika?" I asked, only slightly hesitant as I looked into her eyes, which were reddish brown.
"...Cain." And then she hugged me.
It was... it was nice.
"Urahara, get something for me to cover her up with!" It certainly would have been nicer if she wasn't naked though.
