Beijing, in the Hospital
On the day Shen Shuci returned to Beijing, Tang Wan happened to come to the hospital for a pregnancy checkup. She often visited the hospital before for various health screenings, and the results showed everything was normal. Although pregnancy checkups cannot one hundred percent rule out all diseases, for the couple, all they could do now was to do their part and leave the rest to fate.
After the morning checkup, Tang Wan and Jiang Jinsang had arranged to have lunch with Zhou Zhongqing. They waited in his office for a while but he didn't show up.
"Is Godfather in surgery?" Tang Wan asked when she saw his assistant come back.
"No, there's a recruitment interview at the hospital today. The professor is a deputy examiner. It was supposed to be done by eleven, but the interview timing is unpredictable, so it might be delayed. He said if he's too late, you should go ahead and eat without him."
"How much longer is it going to take?" Jiang Jinsang inquired.
