Chapter 462 - Back to the Future II.II

The DeLorean sliced through the morning air like a silver arrow, leaving behind twin streams of fire that faded into nothing.

Inside, Marty clutched the dashboard, heart hammering. Jennifer squeezed his hand, staring wide-eyed at the glowing circuitry ahead of them.

Doc Brown's gloved hands flew across the switches and dials, his face lit by the pulsing glow of the time circuits.

Marty had been through a lot in the past week—getting trapped in 1955, nearly erasing his own existence, helping his parents fall in love, and then racing lightning bolts to get back to 1985.

But this was different. This wasn't about the past.

This was about the future.

His future.

"Doc..." Marty said over the hum of the reactor. "You're really telling me there's something wrong with my kids?"

Doc's expression tightened, his eccentric energy turning somber. "Precisely, Marty! Your son, specifically. Unless we intervene, he's going to make a disastrous choice that will ruin your entire family for generations!"

Jennifer leaned forward. "Our son?"

Her voice trembled between disbelief and awe. "You mean Marty and I are actually… married?"

Doc shot her a quick glance. "Of course! Don't sound so surprised, young lady. It's all part of the natural order of things. But don't worry, we're not here to meddle with your romance. We're here to prevent a catastrophe."

Before Jennifer could press further, the DeLorean shuddered violently.

Outside the windshield, the world seemed to warp and twist.

Clouds stretched like taffy, lightning crackled in violet arcs across the sky, and then, with a blinding flash, the chaos settled.

The skipping through time ended as Doc straightened in his seat. "Here we are."

He announced proudly. "Hill Valley, California… October 21st, 2015!"

Jennifer pressed her face against the window. What she saw defied belief.

Cars soared overhead like metallic birds, zooming across invisible highways in the sky.

Sleek glass towers rose above the town square, shimmering with holographic advertisements that shifted and rippled like water.

A giant digital shark leapt from a marquee, its translucent jaws snapping before vanishing into pixels.

"Holy!" Marty stammered, his jaw dropping. "This is heavy."

Jennifer was speechless. It was like stepping into a dream she never dared to imagine.

Doc maneuvered the DeLorean down toward a quiet alley. "All right, we'll need to be careful."

He added. "The future is a delicate place. One wrong move could unravel the timeline."

The car touched down, its wheels folding back into place with a hiss. Doc jumped out briskly. "Marty, I need you to disguise yourself as your future son. Jennifer... well... you're about to find things a little… confusing. It's best you stay put in the car."

Jennifer frowned. "What? Why can't I come with you?"

"Because you're going to see things you're not meant to know about your own future," Doc said firmly. "That kind of knowledge can have disastrous consequences. Trust me, it's safer this way."

Before she could argue, he pulled out a device, pressed a button, and Jennifer slumped unconscious, falling gently against the seat.

"Doc! What the hell did you just do?" Marty demanded.

"Relax, Marty. I merely rendered her temporarily unconscious. She'll wake up perfectly fine once this is all over."

Marty rubbed his face. "Man, you can't just knock out my girlfriend!"

"Time is of the essence," Doc replied briskly. "Now come on, there's no moment to lose."

He handed Marty a futuristic jacket and sneakers. "Put these on. They're your son's clothes. With any luck, we'll fool Griff Tannen long enough to stop this disaster before it begins."

Minutes later, Marty found himself standing outside the Café 80s... a neon-lit restaurant crammed with holograms of many exotic characters taking food orders.

Of course, if one is a fan of Creed and its creations, one will know who's who... and there're even characters yet to be revealed. Serving as a precursor of what's to come.

After all, this is a Creed movie and with Creed Graphics... why not change the scene and plaster the whole thing with Creed things?

In any case... Doc had explained the plan quickly cause Marty's son, Marty Junior, was supposed to be pressured by Griff and his gang into participating in a robbery.

If he said yes, his future... and his entire family's future... would be ruined.

Marty's job was simple... pretend to be his son and say no.

Of course, nothing went according to plan.

Marty barely had time to adjust his auto-fitting jacket before Griff stormed into the café, flanked by his bizarre gang of cybernetic delinquents.

Griff was bigger, louder, and meaner than Biff ever was.

His voice cracked like thunder, and his eyes bulged with manic intensity.

"Marty!" Griff bellowed. "You're comin' with us, right? We've got a job to do!"

Marty tried to keep his cool. "Uh, actually… I'm gonna have to say no. Count me out."

The café went silent. Griff's gang stared in shock. Griff twitched, his temper sparking like a fuse. "No? Nobody says no to me, McFly!"

The situation exploded into chaos. Marty dodged a swing from Griff's cyber-arm and bolted out of the café, sprinting into the crowded town square. Griff's gang gave chase on hoverboards, their high-pitched whine echoing through the streets.

Desperate, Marty grabbed a hoverboard from a little girl who looked familiar to those watching...

Regardless, after twisting off the scooter's handlebar extension, Marty jumped on.

The board wobbled under his feet, but instinct kicked in. The skateboarding kind.

He swerved through the futuristic square, dodging holograms and pedestrians, his heart hammering in his chest.

Griff and his gang were relentless. They closed in fast, jeering and laughing as their advanced boards sliced through the air... especially while McFly was pitifully rowing his girly board over water.

However, Marty with his quick thinking eventually lured them toward the courthouse.

At the last moment, he bailed out, rolling onto the pavement.

Griff's gang, unable to stop, smashed through the glass windows of the courthouse with a spectacular crash.

The square erupted in cheers and laughter.

Marty scrambled to his feet, dazed but triumphant.

For now, at least, he had saved his son's future.

---------------

Meanwhile, Jennifer stirred in the alley where Doc had left her.

Groggy and disoriented, she stumbled out of the DeLorean and wandered into the streets of 2015.

The world dazzled her senses... holographic billboards, robot waiters, flying cars... but what stopped her cold was the sight of her future self's house.

Drawn like a moth, she slipped inside and gasped. There she was... her older self, middle-aged and tired, scolding her children and fussing about dinner.

Jennifer hid, wide-eyed, watching her own life play out like a movie. It was overwhelming.

The sound of her kids arguing... the clutter of her future home... bringing with it a weight of responsibilities she couldn't imagine yet.

Before she could process it, future Jennifer appeared in the doorway. The two locked eyes.

Shock flooded both their faces until Doc swooped in, grabbing young Jennifer and hauling her out before anything worse could happen.

"Didn't I warn you?" Doc barked as he dragged her back to the alley. "The consequences of meeting your future self could be disastrous!"

Jennifer, trembling, could only nod.

------------

Back at the town square, Biff Tannen, the older version, had witnessed the hoverboard chaos.

His greedy eyes had also fallen on the time machine. Something about that car stirred dangerous curiosity.

But for now, Doc's mission was complete. He reunited with Marty and Jennifer at the DeLorean, shoving them inside before any further damage could occur.

As the car lifted into the sky, Marty glanced back at Hill Valley, 2015. It was dazzling, terrifying, and utterly surreal. He couldn't help but wonder what else the future had in store.

Doc, however, looked grim. He knew the adventure was far from over.

For this might just be the beginning of the consequences to come.
