Audrey was about to open the door to her old bedroom when the door next to it opened. Forsythia Brown waved her over.
With a big grin and open arms, Audrey ran to Forsythia and threw herself into her embrace, calling out "Mom."
"I have something to tell you," her mom said.
Audrey went into Forsythia's room.
"Where's Gem?"
"He's taking a shower."
Audrey glanced in the direction of the bathroom and heard the sound of running water. She sat down with Forsythia and asked, "Why didn't you bring Manson and Doris to the Imperial Capital?"
The twins are two years old, the age where they're mischievous and energetic. I often see them in videos; they're fraternal twins and don't look much alike, but you can still see traces of Gem in them.
"They stayed in River State to keep your grandpa company."
Daniel Atkinson prefers staying put these days, so Gem Atkinson and Forsythia Brown intentionally left the little ones in River State to keep Daniel Atkinson entertained.
