After messing around all afternoon, Clive went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Audrey went downstairs to get him some food.
The meal she had saved for Ned Mamet was still warm, so she packed it in an insulated box and headed to Ned Mamet's room first. She knocked on the door, and after Ned Mamet said 'come in', she went inside.
Soon, she came out carrying the food box and went directly upstairs.
Just as she closed the door, Clive came out from the bathroom, tossing the towel he was using to dry his wet hair aside. He stepped forward, wrapped his arms around her waist, and nestled his head against her neck, saying, "Life with a wife is still better."
She laughed and pushed him away, saying, "Quickly, while it's still hot."
A dish of scallion beef, a bowl of fish soup, a plate of stir-fried purple turnip, and a big bowl of rice—all devoured by Clive.
While tidying up the dishes, Audrey asked, "Didn't you eat on the plane?"
"No time."
