Norton Jarvis didn't know what was going on in the little creatures' minds, nor did he know whether they would accept him. He ruffled the little creatures' hair again and said, "Come on, let's go pick oysters."
After speaking, he squatted down and rolled up Daniel's pants, saying, "Roll them up a bit more, so they don't get wet by the seawater. You're still running a fever."
Daniel looked at Norton Jarvis with a complicated expression, his lips moved, but he eventually said nothing.
After rolling up Daniel's pants and sleeves, Norton finally took Daniel's hand and walked toward the speedboat.
It was low tide, with only a little seawater left on the shoal.
When they reached the anchor securing the speedboat, with oysters clinging to it, Norton said, "Come, I'll teach you how to pick oysters."
With a simple "Hmm," Daniel took the small shovel Norton handed him and squatted down.
