Chapter 124 - I am Male, All Others are Not(BNHA/WC)-3

Seven hundred six and a half meters.

Midoriya Izumi could not help but gawk at such a result from a man pitching a ball. It was something that was close to destroying her world view. Throughout all of her life she had been told, and shown, that for one to be truly extraordinary; they needed to have a quirk. Something that she did not possess, making her an anomaly in the world where only men were supposed to not have quirks.

When she had been offered One for All, the quirk of the greatest hero of the world, she had thought that she finally had her chance. Her personality, beliefs and act had impressed All Might enough that she had decided to give Izumi this chance to truly follow her dreams. A chance to be a true hero, something she could only do so with a quirk.

So how? How? HoW? HOW?!

How had someone with no quirk was accomplishing something she could only dream of?!

"That's pretty much what is expected from you lot in these tests. You will be using your quirks in order to boost your scores as much as you can." Their teacher said with a bored look on her face, uncaring of how she had just showed them something that would make the worldview of most people crumble.

"Did you see how far he actually threw it?!"

"How can he do that?!"

"Who cares, we get to use our quirks!"

"That sounds fun!" Though the students seemed far more interested in using their quirks in tests rather than the impossible they had just seen.

"Fun, you say?" Though their excitement was cut rather short as their teacher glared at them.

"That's no good, we can't have students perform with such a thought process. I have decided, whoever comes last in these tests; will be expelled effective immediately!" And then Midoriya Izumi felt all of her hopes leave her body.

-------------------

"You think she'll actually expel one of us?" Hisako asked with only the slightest amount of fear in her voice, not exactly happy with the drama their class was dealing with.

"If she decides that anyone here has no potential, she'll likely do it." Baki said while stretching, not even a hint of worry on his face. Not that Hisako was surprised by his lack of worry, Baki had been practically killing these tests.

In a fifty meter dash, he outran the girl with fucking engines on her legs! In grip strength test, he got over threehundred! In the standing long jump, he cleared the whole field; even if certain others had done that as well.

Hisako would like to think that she did pretty well in her own tests, even if her quirk was somewhat hard to use for most of them, but none of her scores reached even close to Baki's scores.

There were some other noteworthy ones like that blonde girl that had tried to pick up a fight the moment she saw Baki, the black haired girl who could create things to use in the tests and the girl with dark skin and white hair. The last one was especially noteworthy to Hisako since she did not seem to be using her quirk in order to get scores. Which meant that she was either a brute type, as Baki called people with super strength, with no noticeable effects or she had trained her Atlas factor excessively.

"Midoriya, you're up." And then there was the last one that had gotten Hisako's interest, not due to her scores but due to how obviously nervous she was about the whole test. Though Hisako had to admit that she would not be the most confident person if she had to do the ball throw right after the girl with the gravity quirk that had gotten a fucking infinity on her score.

And it seemed like she was right to be nervous since she ended up throwing the ball only about thirty meters away.

"B-But how?!" She stuttered out and Hisako finally realized that there was something wrong, mostly due to their teacher glaring at the timid girl with glowing red eyes and hovering hair.

"I erased your quirk." The teacher declared before sending out her scarf, wrapping it around the girl and pulling her closer. On an unrelated note, their teacher was Eraserhead.

The conversation after that felt somewhat weird to Hisako. Something about Midoriya, the timid girl, hurting herself whenever she used her quirk and that she was not suitable to be a hero.

"If a hero puts themselves out of commission to save only one person, then the number of people in danger does not change." Okay, that was kinda cool. Not exactly accurate if taken too literally but it made sense. This was a school after all, they likely wouldn't want to teach students only for the said students to get themselves killed.

"I returned your quirk to you, throw again. If you don't get a good result, you're out of here." Aizawa said as she threw the ball back to Midoriya, looking completely uninterested once more.

"So, what do you think about it?" Hisako asked Baki, while also keeping an eye on the other students who were talking with each other.

"It's a waste of time." He said with a shrug.

"From what I can understand, Midoriya has a quirk that gives her an immense strength at the cost of her breaking her limbs. She is pretty much a literal glass canon. Only one shot, but the shot can even topple a zero pointer robot from the entrance exam."

"You mean that skyscraper sized thing?" Hisako asked with a shock, that thing had been huge!

"If she came to UA with such a limiting quirk and has the intention to use it with no care for her health, as she showed just now, then her mentality is not fitting to be here." He said curtly, his words harsh but definitely not wrong. Yet a part of her, a part that felt pity towards Midoriya, wanted to at least attempt to defend the timid girl from her friend's bluntness. But before she could do that...

"HAAAAH!"

...the girl threw the ball hard enough to break through the sound barrier!

Seven hundred and five point three meters.

"Sensei, I can... still... move!" The girl gritted out with tears on the corner of her eyes and a very broken index finger as she clenched her fist. And then the rest of the class started to celebrate, impressed by the score.

But from the corner of her eye, Hisako could see that Baki was not impressed. As a matter of fact, he was frowning harder than she had ever seen him frown.
