:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Sorry for the delay over the last few days, guys.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The night was drenched in chaos.
Gunfire cracked through the silence of what was once a city, now nothing more than a graveyard of burning steel and rotting flesh. The air reeked of blood and smoke, the cries of the living and the howls of the dead merging into one endless scream.
Zombies prowled through the wreckage, their eyes empty, their hunger eternal. They tore into the last survivors with savage delight, feasting upon the remnants of humanity.
And amidst this nightmare, Jack walked — calm, unhurried, his boots crushing shards of glass with every step. His black coat fluttered lightly in the smoky wind. He watched the slaughter with detached amusement.
"You die without owing anything," he said softly, a cold smile forming. "After all… before dying, you had one good meal."
A gunshot cut through his words.
"Jack! I'll kill you!" Carlos shouted, his voice raw with fury as he fired at full force. The muzzle flashed again and again, echoing through the hollow streets.
In a blink, Jack vanished.
The next instant, he stood directly in front of Carlos.
His hand shot out — a blur — and seized Carlos by the throat. Carlos's boots kicked helplessly above the ground.
"You really don't know your limits," Jack said with icy calm. His crimson eyes seemed to pierce through Carlos's soul. "Since you want to die so badly… then die."
"I… I won't submit…" Carlos choked, his breath rasping.
"Ambitious," Jack murmured, his lips curling into a grin. With one effortless swing, he hurled Carlos through the air toward three waiting zombies.
"No!" Alice's scream tore through the smoke as Carlos hit the ground.
The undead descended upon him instantly. He struggled, clawing at the sand, but it was useless. Their teeth sank into his flesh; his screams filled the air until they were drowned by the wet sound of tearing meat.
"Carlos! Carlos!" Alice shouted, rushing forward with her twin blades flashing in the firelight.
She moved like a storm — each strike clean, merciless. Heads flew, blood sprayed, and the three zombies collapsed in twisted heaps.
Panting, Alice dropped to her knees beside what was left of Carlos. His eyes were open, staring blankly into nothing.
"Carlos…" she whispered. Her voice trembled; rage and grief warred within her.
She stood slowly, her eyes burning red under the flicker of flames. "Jack! I'll kill you, Jack!"
But Jack was gone — vanished like a ghost into the smoke.
Alice screamed into the emptiness, swinging her blades at the remaining corpses, tearing them apart in a frenzy until her arms shook from exhaustion.

High atop the remains of the Eiffel Tower, Teri watched the massacre below. Her body trembled as the wind howled past.
"How can this be happening?" she whispered, shaking her head. "Why is Jack doing this? Why?"
Beside her, Jill stood with her arms crossed, eyes shadowed. "You already know the answer," she said coldly. "That bastard was never a good man. He only does what pleases him."
"I don't believe that," Teri said stubbornly, tears burning her eyes. "There has to be a reason!"
"Believe what you want," Jill muttered, though her gaze softened for a moment. Jack was cruel, yes — but in the past, he'd saved her. A part of her refused to see him as pure evil.
The silence between them was heavy, filled with the sound of distant moans and gunfire.
---
"Ahhh!" K-Mart ran through the ruins, her breath ragged. Two zombies chased close behind, their rotting hands reaching for her hair.
"Don't come near me! Stay away!" she screamed, stumbling and falling hard onto the sand. Pain shot up her arm, but she crawled backward, desperate, tears streaking her dirt-stained face.
The zombies lunged — their open mouths dripping blood and decay.
"Don't worry," came a calm, steady voice.
Warm hands caught her around the waist, pulling her backward just as the undead fell upon the spot she had been. She looked up — and there he was.
"Jack…" she breathed, disbelief and relief flooding her eyes. His smile was faint but strangely gentle.
The zombies roared, lunging toward them. Jack's pupils gleamed like red glass.
In an instant, the air itself split apart — a sharp burst of pressure. The two zombies were sliced cleanly in half, their bodies collapsing into blackened dust.
"I'll take you somewhere safe," Jack said quietly.
Before K-Mart could speak, his form flickered and vanished. The world blurred — and suddenly they were standing atop the Eiffel Tower.
He set her down gently. "Stay here," he said. His tone carried both command and something softer — regret, perhaps. Then he was gone.
"Jack…" Teri whispered, her voice trembling. She wanted to call out, to ask him why — but no words came.

In the rusted shell of an abandoned car, L.J. hid, sweating and pale. Every noise outside made his heart skip. He clutched his pistol with shaking hands, his breath shallow.
"Don't be afraid," said a voice from the shadows — smooth, cold, familiar. "You won't need to fear much longer. You'll soon be just like them."
"Jack…" L.J. gasped, eyes wide with terror.
Jack stepped into the faint light seeping through a cracked window, his face unreadable. "Let me help you end the pain."
He raised his gun and aimed it at L.J.'s forehead.
"No! Don't kill me, please—"
Bang!
The gunshot echoed through the car, through the city, through the night.
L.J.'s head fell forward. Silence.
Jack tossed the gun aside without emotion, stepped out of the car, and walked into the darkness, his coat brushing softly against the wind.

"Ahhh!" Alice's furious roar shattered the silence. Her blades flashed again and again, cutting down the undead surrounding her. Her movements were pure rage — each swing a scream, each kill a release.
When the last corpse fell, she stood panting, blood dripping from her blades.
Then her body stiffened. Her pupils flashed — the Umbrella Corporation symbol glowed faintly within them. Her body froze mid-motion, locked in place.
"She's under control again," said a voice.
Jack stood before her, watching her like a scientist studying his creation. He stepped closer, raising a hand to her face. His touch was strangely gentle, almost human.
"Still so strong-willed," he murmured. "So defiant. That's what makes you perfect."
The Umbrella symbol flickered again in her eyes. Her fingers twitched.
"She's evolving," Jack said to himself. "Breaking free from satellite control."
With that, he turned and disappeared into the shadows once more.
Above the Earth, far beyond the clouds, an Umbrella satellite spun in orbit. Inside, a console flickered — one of the tracking chips sparked, burned, and died.
On the ground, Alice gasped. A scream tore from her throat as the control shattered completely. Her mind was her own again.
Without a word, she turned and began walking — drawn by something unseen, toward a destination unknown.
---
Miles away, within a fortified compound surrounded by high fences, a tent buzzed with frantic energy. A helicopter waited nearby, its rotors still.
"Dr. Isaacs, the signal's still active — fifteen seconds left!" a technician shouted.
Dr. Isaacs, the man behind Project Alice, leaned forward, his face bathed in the glow of the monitors. "Find her. Now!"
"Three… two… one… connection established!"
The screens flickered — and went black.
"She's gone," the technician whispered.
Isaacs slammed his fist onto the table. "Where the hell did she go?"
Thud!
The heavy front gate shuddered violently.
A moment later, Alice appeared, walking through the smoke — her twin guns raised, her eyes blazing with defiance.
"Stop her! Quickly!" Isaacs shouted, panic in his voice.
But before his men could react, a piercing shriek cut through the air.
From the sky descended a massive shadow — wings spanning wide, its cry echoing across the wasteland. The earth trembled as the creature dove toward the compound.
On the Eiffel Tower, Jill stared at the monstrous shape blotting out the moon. Her eyes widened in disbelief.
"What… what the hell is that?" she whispered.
The night answered with another deafening roar.
And somewhere in the smoke, unseen by all, Jack smiled.
