The Fearow's beak smashed against the psychic barrier and came to a stop. It was like a wall as the Fearow rebounded off with a screech. Small sparks appeared in front of it before a full-force Fire Blast consumed the bird in fire.
Out of the smoke, a speeding smokeball shot into the sky. The Fearow looked ragged, but it still flew with confidence. The two Raticates dashed around the battlefield with incredible speed.
Percy glanced at Jason, "Time to make a path. Crash will grab one of the Raticates. You do your thing." He said as he turned to the battle. Crash dodged a lazy attack and chomped onto the Raticate's shoulder with Crunch. "Hold!" Percy shouted. Crash's jaw clamped down harder, his eyes radiating anger.
The Raticate struggled under the bite. It's fist charged with black energy before smashing into Crash's stomach. Crash hissed in pain, but held strong and lifted the Raticate into the air before slamming it down on the ground. The Fearow screamed as it dove at Crash, its body leaking flying energy. Its beak glowed blue as air parted around it.
The Gloom glowed for a moment before it used Bullet Seed on the flying Pokémon. It wove between the bullets, avoiding many, but was struck by the last few. Its trajectory had been slightly affected, but it was still zeroed in on Crash. "Use the Raticate!" Percy commanded, his eyes sharp.
Crash's lips rose into a smile as he lifted the Raticate and put it between him and the Fearow. Lights flashed as the powerful flying attack smashed into the Raticate's fearful eyes. Crash flew back a few meters before catching his feet. An unconscious Raticate lay on the ground.
The Fearow took off into the air again, but was shot to the ground as Quilava blasted it down. Quilava had been locked in a fast-paced battle with the other Raticate, each using their high speed stats to compete. Quilava had more special attack power, and Percy couldn't deny that Jason's training with the Pokemon created an absolute powerhouse of a special attacker. The Fearow lay on the ground next to the Raticate, unconscious.
Percy turned to shout to the other trainers to go, but saw them already running across the side. Crash was between them, and the last Raticate out. One Team Rocket member shouted to his Raticate. "Stop them!"
The other two reached to their Pokebelts and grabbed two Pokeballs each off their belt. "Oh no you don't!" One of them said as four Pokemon appeared in front of them.
Percy's lip curled, "Ditto." He released Noctowl and pointed at the rule breakers. He laughed. "If you wanna use more Pokemon, we can do that." Jason had already released another Pokemon of his own. Team Rocket's new Pokemon were weaker than the first ones at levels 26-28. It was two Golbats, an Arbok, and a Koffing.
Jason's Pidgeotto dashed forward and flapped its wings powerfully. A Whirlwind blasted the Team Rocket Pokémon away as the trainers ran past them. The TR members tried to pursue, but rapidly found out they were stuck in a double battle now. Percy ran forward as he directed his Pokémon.
Jason had made sure the trainers could pass safely, so all Percy had to do was make sure nothing went wrong. Crash trudged forward and roared at the Arbok. The snake tried to pursue the other trainers, but a few large boulders slammed in front of it. Crash used Rock Tomb to stop his new opponent.
Meanwhile, Noctowl's eyes charged with psychic energy as it locked onto one of the Golbats. The Golbats were weaker in the sun, and this one couldn't resist Confusion. Psychic energy glowed off its body as Noctowl slammed it into the ground. Percy couldn't spare any attention as he ordered his Pokémon. Crash and the Arbok struggled in a wrestling match. Crash was at a disadvantage because he was pretty worn out from his earlier opponents. Percy was ready to pull him out, but he knew Crash would grow most under stress.
The Arbok sank its teeth into Crash's shoulder and began wrapping its body around the shorter reptile. Crash thrashed hard, but couldn't overpower the snake from his exhaustion. The group of trainers had made it past safely and were out of reach of the battle. Percy grimaced as he looked at Crash fiercely struggle. "Break out!" He shouted encouragingly. His hand reached for his pokeball in anticipation.
Crash looked over to his trainer with great strain and roared in a desperate last attempt. Percy knew he couldn't recall Crash out of Arbok's Wrap, but he had two Pokémon in battle. As Crash's last struggle failed, slashes of air collided with the back of the snake's head. Crash pulled himself from its grasp and ran backward.
A red beam shot from the pokeball and pulled Crash inside. Percy clicked open Furia's ball and quickly directed her at the Arbok. The air battle was more straightforward. Noctowl was a wild, hearty pokemon with large health stats and high special defense. Against a sun-weakened Golbat, he had the upper hand. Percy was letting him do his thing and observed him carefully.
Noctowl had taken a decent hit to save Crash, but the Golbat looked rugged, and the Team Rocket member was looking nervous. Jason's battle was going similarly to Percy's, and they were both on high alert for anything. The Honey Clan members were still waiting for Fay and Theo's battles.
Things didn't look so good on their end, but the Gloom trainer was holding up well. He had to switch out his Gloom for a Parasect, but his Parasect was no weaker. Percy looked back at his battle before he heard Fay start shouting. He heard the fear in her voice, so he turned around to see two of the Team Rocket members carrying two unconscious Pokemon with nets around them.
Their Pokémon launched attacks at Fay and Theo, but were defended by a few Pokemon from the spectating Honey clan members. Percy shot forward, his sense of self being overtaken by his dedication to the job. Theo and Fay had their Pokemon defeated, and in an instant, captured using technology that lightens the load, allowing for easy transport. The nets quickly becomes tight against the Pokemon, and have a series of handles for easier carrying.
The net glowed slightly as the members handled the captured Pokemon like pillows. Fay's majestic Vespiquen and Theos Beautifly were unconscious and beaten up beneath the shrinking net. Percy weaved between the Parasect's battle, narrowly avoiding a glob of poison shot from the Koffing it was battling. He scrambled past them and ran toward the Team Rocket members escaping.
But as he passed the Pokémon, he found all 5 TR members collapsing on him. Their defensive formation turned into entrapment. He spun as one of the members shot a taser into his arm. Pain racked his body as he shook and groaned in pain. His jaw was tight as he slowed to a stop. A large fist cracked against his cheek, throwing him to the ground. A buff Team Rocket member kicked him before running off.
Percy twitched on the ground as the taser stopped. His head was reeling from the punch, and he could only hear the sounds of Pokémon battles very close to him. As he rolled onto his back, he saw Jason's Pidgeotto stop an attack that was targeting Percy. He shot to his feet, stumbling like a drunkard.
All 5 members had taken off running down the street, and demanded their Pokémon to cover their escape. Percy was in the middle of an all-out battle. He dove to the side as the Arbok struck at him quickly. Fúria pounced onto the snake, her powerful fists smashing its back repeatedly, making the Pokémon squirm aggressively.
Percy scrambled to his feet and ran toward the fleeing criminals. Another move gouged through the ground feet from him as he broke through. He stumbled a little before shaking his head. He had to pursue. The sound of footsteps landing next to Percy scared him, but as he turned, he was surprised to see Jason.
Percy held his head, "How'd you-"
"Teleportation." Jason smiled. "I exhausted my psychic reserves between that and the shield. Let's let the subs take this battle." Jason suggested.
Percy looked back across the Pokémon battles to see some of the Honey trainers looking ready to battle. "Alright. Hey, sub in!" Percy recalled Fúria and Noctowl, who were both not far from beating their opponents. Noctowl was a little gassed, but still had more than 60 percent capacity. Fúria was better off and had more than 70 percent left.
The Honey trainers quickly engaged Team Rocket's Pokémon before they could chase Jason or Percy. Jason patted Percy on the back as they ran down the street. "You don't have a concussion, do you?" He asked with a concerned look.
Percy shook his head, "I don't think so. I think that dude just rocked me." He murmured.
Jason laughed a little. "We will get that back. I think they're out of Pokémon, so we should get some fist fight action." He smiled.
"Getting my get back is not the priority right now. I need to get those trainers Pokémon back." Percy corrected.
Jason nodded and stared forward. "Getting those Pokemon back is the priority. Got it. Looks like that's the building up there." He spotted.
Percy released Crash at his side. "Failing is not an option." Percy stated.
