Shard asked, frowning as he endured the headache, and the witch nodded:
"Yes, she originally had talent, just like her twin sister, but hers was less pronounced. Such a violent spirit, it's enough to support the awakening of a witch."
"Mia, are you alright?"
Shard hurried to check on the cat he had held in his arms earlier. He had attempted to transform the cat back into a toy but met with resistance—the arcane technique requires complete trust, and even the slightest thought of resistance causes failure.
Now, looking at the cat, its orange-and-white fur appeared smoother and glossier. As Shard tried the feel of it, Mia lazily lay in his arms, glancing at him, appearing to be unaffected.
The ordinary Bard's eyes underwent slight changes, the witch grew stronger, and the maid awakened. Shard, who also encountered the sandstorm and witnessed the incredible natural phenomena, certainly gained something as well.
