Shard did not stay long at Mr. Edmund's. He left before dinner. When he returned home, he was still wondering if the Water Ghost pheromone on him would be sniffed out by Mia. In fact, before Shard took another bath, little Mia seemed to be avoiding him as if he were a stinky salted fish.
The following Saturday, Shard still did not receive any letter from Miss Apothecary at the Green Lake Hotel. If not for her sending a message asking Shard to wait a little longer, Shard might even have considered trying to find her himself.
