Tens of thousands of red butterflies appeared in the snowy night, though no one knew when, and they were soon seen by everyone.
The peculiar red butterflies were translucent as they fluttered among the woods and clearings, their wings shedding tiny red glimmers.
They surrounded the figure heading to the clearing, as if playing with him, or perhaps accompanying him. The red butterflies quickly populated the woodland, and from somewhere came the gentle song of a young girl.
Despite it being the eve of a decisive battle, despite the Material World teetering on the edge of disaster, the scene before them inexplicably turned the anxious and unsettling atmosphere into one of tranquility and... eeriness. The song was indeed youthful, yet sorrowful. Listening to it evoked a feeling as if a part of one's heart was missing, a sense of losing the most crucial part of life, almost bringing tears.
