Leonus jolted upright, drenched in sweat, his breath sharp and uneven. His crimson eyes—like molten rubies—gleamed in the dim light, wide with disbelief. His hair, tousled and damp from the lingering heat of the dream, clung to his forehead. For a moment, he sat frozen, chest rising and falling, as the dream's haze clung to him like smoke.
'What... What the hell just happened? What did I just see...?'
His thoughts raced, heart hammering against his ribs like it was trying to claw its way out.
'That dream... I saw it again… But it hasn't even been a year—no… it hasn't even been a week.'
His hands gripped the edge of the sheets. He barely registered the sting in his palm from how tightly he was clenching them.
'And this time…'
His breath hitched.
"Wait… Sh-She…"
The words tumbled from his lips, shaky and soft, as if speaking them might shatter the fragile thread of hope forming inside him.
