The god said to them, "I can either block you, or I can help you block anyone who comes to help the god of nobles. It all depends on you. As long as you promise to help me fight the god of knowledge, I will make sure that no one interferes with your fight with the god of nobles."
Legion brightened up when they heard what the god was asking for. They thought to themselves, "An enemy of that smug bookworm is a friend of ours."
So the virtual body said, "I swear on my authority as the god of illusion that as long as you make sure that no one interferes with my fight with the god of nobles and me taking his authority, I will help you to fight the god of knowledge."
Legion had subtly added another condition to the deal without asking. They swore that they would only help this god fight the god of knowledge if this god helps them block anyone coming to help the god of nobles and block anyone who tries to stop them from taking the authorities in his possession.
