The battle had twisted the code of the environment itself—walls flickered between physical metal and glitchy nothingness. Laziel floated beside him, cloak scorched, breathing shallow.
Ahead, the Code Reaper hovered—tattered, divine, monstrous.
Its left arm was severed. Binary ichor poured from exposed circuits and angelic wings made of light flickered weakly behind it. But its mechanical eyes still blazed red.
