July twenty-third, on a night that was calm, a night that could make anyone feel secure, and safe. Josue lies down in his bed for the first time in a long time, "It's been almost a year since I've lied down in one of these things!" Josue says in his head. He spends the majority of his time researching and investigating why monsters sporadically appear throughout the continent of Europe, from his own studies, primarily in his three cities. It's been the first time since Josue has had a moment to himself since he dedicated himself to his work, he hasn't slept in a week. "I'm going to enjoy this rarity!" Josue told himself as he fell asleep in his soft, clean and comfortable bed.
Getting a bit of sleep went well for the monarch of the metropolis trio until he finds himself awakened floating slowly within a dark void. Eye to eye in this groundless space with an unfamiliar young man with a sleeveless long coat and an unnerving grin on his mien. Josue took swift notice to the fact that he can't find a read on this young man in any capacity he's used to rather physically as he had unblinking eyes with the same grin nor feel him possessing any lemon chiffon essence. This mysterious encounter came out of left field.
The unfamiliar young man materialized a chair in the groundless void and rested in it. "I hope that nap was invigorating, JoJo." He said as he folded his arms on his lap, "Boy oh boy JoJo, you are so talked about in as many corners as I've been to in this age but a simple and authentic image of you is as rare, huh?" The young man whom was confronting the detested potentate finished. The monarch of the metropolis trio rested his knuckles on his chin as he asked himself questions. "This can't be another realm yet it can't be a witscape either or I'd have total control unless—?!" Josue reasoned aloud. The young man in front of him with the sleeveless long coat gently shook his head. "Ugh, gosh Josie, you'll have to figure it out." Advay commented confidently "Now train those sight data collectors on me and use those ears of yours. I've got a few questions for you. Answer them, Josue Detayvern!" He demanded with a slightly infuriated demeanor yet Josue picked up on his vexation. The monarch of the metropolis trio tossed out his pinkie finger fixed towards the mysterious visitor. "You cannot be the perspicacious mentor in his journals!" Josue interrupted with a tone filled with disbelief. The unfamiliar young man lightly chuckled. "You're probably guessing right as I'm probably guessing those journals belonged to a man you stole from known as Ambroise Detayvern?" The ancient culture's final survivor told the monarch.
Josue found himself lost in the past after his revelation regarding the identity of the mysterious young man confronting him. He couldn't help but think about the notes about the figure in the diary he found that taught him everything he knows. "So, wait—?" Josue interrupted Advay once more. The mysterious visitor survivor shouted with a disembodied voice in Josue's mind as he exploded into tons of bubble wrap that drifted in the blankness. "Grantso's surprise!" He pushed away the bubble wrap that touched his left cheek.
The monarch of the megapolis trio remembered the young man confronting him, had his access to his lemon chiffon essence under his will, and tried to maintain composure. "I've never stolen the journals that you left for him to bend the world. I— his wife had adopted me as her son after he unfortunately passed away before he managed to make his ideal world and I could meet him so I— decided…" Josue gulped after enlightening the last survivor of the fallen kingdom. The last upholder of an ancient civilization's grin slowly vanished from his face. "I noticed that you've studied enough to shield your mind from nosey folks. Phenomenally studied." Advay replied prior to fixing his vacant eyes on the monarch of the megalopolis trio in silence. Josue beamed with relief and pleasure. "You'll find that I value honesty, not deception." Said Josue while referring back to Ambroise's notes about him, "You're truly him?!" Josue asked with an emphasis on the last word, "Be honest with me— is my theory regarding your goal accurate?" Josue asked curiously. The ancient lemon chiffon scholar lightly chuckled. "Yes. If you truly don't know then the earth could enlighten me." He answered as he rubbed his chin. The monarch of the megalopolis trio swiftly snapped his fingers. "Check around Seyort, that's where Ambroise was last to be seen." Josue informed the scholar, hoping that a thorough search would buy him some time. Advay's expression conveyed intrigue. "Wanna hear my impression of you?" He had replied, he suddenly started breathing heavily then he took a large gasp of air.
Josue woke up hearing his parrot and breathing heavily. With a gleam of motivation in his eye at the idea of a possible new challenger in connection with someone he desired to meet, Josue thought about what he should or can do next time they meet. He thought of a question he was hoping he'd know the answer to their next encounter as he sat with a fresh cup of coffee from Armand.
…
That exact day within a few hours passing, the Trio was ordered to make the journey to their city's police headquarters by their police chief. Ember squealed as she stepped foot inside the police headquarters, filled with excitement at the idea of meeting face to face with the monarch of the metropolis trio as they were promised. "You aren't stoked to meet the most powerful figure in France, Ly?" Ember questioned her brother as they traversed floors. The Sangfroid Paragon shrugged with a blank expression. "Armand has me doubting he'd show up. The chief made the promise. Not him." Lyle answered as he leaned against the lobby wall while his siblings sat in a chair awaiting their leader.
The Oath's Sanguine Marksman gripped his communicator before sharing it with his siblings. "Matty sent me a photo of him at a parade he held a while ago. He's handsome, like— an older man who appreciates his face and hair." Artus answered with a smile as usual, Ember stood quietly blushing with widened eyes as she fixed her gaze towards the communicator screen. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon's expression conveyed his confusion. "Matty, Art?" He questioned his brother aloud. Oath's Sanguine Marksman lightly chuckled. "I don't— even know how to describe him?" Artus replied as he leaned his head upwards. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon crossed his arms. "Must be a complex guy. A genuine first for you." Lyle finished.
Oath's Blue-stocking Blade lightly chuckled as she disapprovingly shook her head. "Fool, he'll show up as promised, sir, pessimist." Ember responded to her younger brother's doubt. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon held his sore shoulder and began stretching the arm. "We'll see soon enough. Lady, selective." Lyle responded with a confident expression. Oath's Sanguine Marksman began being overwhelmed by anxiousness, a familiar yet strange sensation spread across his skin. This signature is— what is this signature?!" Artus asked himself as his siblings noticed the obvious terror on his face.
As Artus slowly backed away from where he stood and trembling, he took notice of his siblings' brows raised and heard their gasps, eventually he took a glance at a man that stood with impeccable posture on his right with his hands clasped behind him. Ember's eyes widened as her heart rate sped up. "In his forties most definitely!" She kept to herself as she had been in the process of straightening her posture with her arms behind her back as respectful as she could muster. Artus followed his sibling's lead. "I should have listened to him— Sick of these lemon chiffon, ugh, signatures screwing with me." Oath's Sanguine Marksman remained in his thoughts.
The first detail Lyle noticed was that the man wore violet body armor not resembling anything he has seen before, the first thing Artus had noticed was the man wore peculiar gauntlets that he could tell hid more to them, the first interesting tidbit that Ember had noticed was that this man was Josue, prompting her after all the research she has done, to assume he hid more about himself.
The Oath's monarch had a brow raised as he noticed Artus losing his balance. "Hello, Gen-Oath, I'm Josue Detayvern. I'm sure you all already knew that but I don't want to be rude, I thought a formal introduction was still necessary." Was how he greeted them as soon as he had their undivided attention. Ember found herself stunned, astounded and flabbergasted that he kept his promise. The Monarch's voice was how she had imagined it. Ember's heart was pounding almost like she met a symbol, her admiration for his feats and his work, she was completely nonplussed. Each of the Trio took to their military disciplined roots and stood up like soldiers greeting their superior, The Trio kept their hands positioned near their hips while standing next to one another with exceptional posture much like their monarch.
The Oath's monarch shaped his manifested Lemon chiffon essence into papers. "I've read through all of your files. Trained since childhood. However, I didn't expect you few to be as superhuman as you've performed." Josue spoke with a beaming grin, "So young, yet so well-ordered— reminds me of my children!" Josue kept to himself as he shook each of the Trio's hands. The Trio kept their eyes trained on Josue and their mouths shut. Monarch of the metropolis trio felt awkward in the silence. "You can be yourselves right now, this gathering isn't for matters of the cities' defense." Josue stated very clearly and directly, "Understood, sir!" Ember responded in her most respectful tone, struggling to resist smiling from ear to ear in his presence. The silence remained between the Trio and their leader. Josue decided to be straightforward and clear. "There's an event arriving soon that might shake this city like a child shakes a jar with a lightning bug, or one shakes a puppy not aware of the consequences, when this event comes, I demand of you, with urgency— for you few to be ready, expect my call and drop everything and be at my side." Josue briefed the Trio. Ember's face had shown her confusion.
The Metropolis trio's monarch winked and gave the Trio his thumbs up as he conjured a lemon chiffon portal away. "I wanted to finally meet this famous trio face to face, trained by the states— I'm giving you the opportunity very few receive from me. I'm updating your badges to have access to more stations. There'll be a message out to everyone who's under my management so they will be informed as well, I'm going to inform the other teams too." Josue said before he stepped back into a portal. The portal lingered as the Trio stood in silence, checking out their new, and improved ID badges. He stepped through the portal yet it hadn't vanished so he stuck his head outside. "Don't let me down. You can have a rest day. I'll take care of any monsters." He finished with a stern tone in the first sentence.
Oath's Blue-stocking Blade rolled her eyes at the idea of a day off when the remnants of the lemon chiffon essence lingering had vanished. "In that case, I'll see you guys later!" Ember shouted and waved as she jogged away. Oath's Sanguine Marksman conjured a firearm and sent a swift concussive blast that tossed his elder sister into a wall behind her brothers. "Sorry, you're too quick. You don't want to hang out with ya brothers?" Artus asked as she helped her back to her feet. Ember sighed and thought for a moment as she stretched her legs. "I do, however, I don't want to lose my job because one of my swords was lunged into a goofy banshee on my day off!" She answered with a violent tone inching closer as she neared the end of speaking. Artus balled his fists next to his chest. "Which is why what I have planned today— she'll never find us, it's perfect for fun and doubles as hiding, nothing that she expects for you guys!" He replied with a grin face and an ecstatic tone. Ember shook her head disapprovingly. "Ew. If it's some sort of party establishment, she'll guess which based on how much she knows you and she knows you more than you will ever know her." She replied before chuckling and speeding away.
Oath's Sanguine Marksman turned his gaze towards his brother after she disappeared around the corner. "Is it a coincidental thing that you happen to be smiling whenever Livia's name is mentioned?" Artus asked his brother. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon's expression shifted, displaying the cringe that he felt after hearing his question. "..." Lyle couldn't respond as he shifted his gaze towards the ground reminiscing.
Oath's inescapable visionary jogged in place feeling an urgent matter bubbling up in his stomach. "Call'em up for me, big bro, I'm feeling like something's about to keep me too busy!" He requested with the following groan as he rested his hand on his helmet with a dejected expression. Oath's violet hooded gravity enjoyed butterscotch candies as he scrolled through his friend's contacts searching for an assiduous fellow as described by his roommate. "Yo, what do you say to spending our time off getting to know each other, guy?" He greeted Generil's Gen-Oath members when they picked up, "Oh right— name's Kiyo Chilleday by the way. Horrible tendency." He finished charismatically in Artus' opinion. The sanguine marksman looked at his brother who had quietly glanced before continuing to fling his throwing knives into sizable pineapples on their kitchen counter.
…
It was the time when it was perfect for natural tanning, midday and the blazing sun felt good to Oath's gravity as he had seated himself on a bench and waited for his guests to arrive into his city on the train he bought them. He heard loud debate coming from the crowd of citizens that exited the city's train when it arrived. Artus glanced around as one of his eyes came close to shutting and he tapped his chin. "So, it isn't weird that I kinda wanna test my hand to hand prowess against one of the states' vigilantes?" He asked his brother as the duo was in the process of searching for the man that promised to give them a tour of their town twins. Lyle nodded as calmly as usual. "I have full confidence you'll get your wish one day, Art." He responded until he spotted the man his brother described.
A beaming grin developed on Kiyo's face as he stepped his way to the sanguine and sangfroid duo after he grabbed a glance of them in the train station from afar. "Homies, so welcome to Seyort, town twin of the home of Europe's most generous woman, Genevieve Detayvern!" Childay greeted them with his obvious overwhelming excitement heard by the duo.
Oath's sanguine marksman shook and dapped up Oath's gravity. "I think this guy officially gave the perfect first impression, Ly!" Artus whispered to his brother. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon couldn't disagree. "First impressions are never trustworthy." He responded in his usually low volume. The left side of Kiyo's cheek went up as he gently bit his own tongue. "You make sense, let me ace the rest then." He replied before gesturing for the duo of brothers to walk with him. He led them to his base of operations which like theirs, had doubled as their living quarters and home in the city.
The set of three walked inside, Artus and Lyle saw things they didn't have in their apartment, the place could be compared to a five star suite fit for a rich man, of course naturally, only Artus really desired the few luxuries that had been held inside.
Artus couldn't shake the awe he felt as he explored the interior. "Did the best interior decorator work on this place or something?" Artus asked their host in jest. Kiyo looked at his curious guest. "Yessir. Sir Enshaufancé— they call him, five time champion of some contest each city throws every year and a half in celebration and appreciation of nature and the planet." He answered him without an ounce of humor in his tone, "Don't mind me asking, Josue didn't employ Generil's most recent winner to spiffy your place?" He asked with exceptional curiosity. Artus shrugged. Lyle shrugged. "Guess not— a home just needs the necessary utilities anyway." Lyle opined, while Artus stood quiet thinking. Kiyo snapped and a light bulb lit in his brain. "Have you guys ever thought about asking Armand if you could pick your own place?" Chilleday asked curiously, having the brothers swiftly realize that never crossed their thoughts. Chilleday was a bit dumbfounded by how long Lyle and Artus just stared at each other while Artus was gaping and Lyle was goggling.
Oath's Sanguine Marksman's brows soared upwards. "Big bro, S.I.O.M is still with us!!" Artus blurted out. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon gently rubbed his forehead, covering his left eye. "Exceptional programming, little bro." Replied Lyle, far quieter.
Kiyo resembled a lost traveler in the face. "Whas— a S.I.O.M, fellas?" Chilleday curiously asked, Lyle's and Artus' attention has been successfully shifted to his question. Artus informed him with a brief summation and a few extra details. Kiyo had been seated after the three moved to the kitchen. "You guys sound like you've had a pretty badass childhood, I barely survived High School." Chilleday responded while he was briefly reminded of a time that he almost failed at halting an attempt to blow up his parent's car from a vendetta by a local rival. Artus chuckled lightly at his reaction. "Tell us more about it though and yourself!" Artus suggested as politely as usual. "They're going to grow close." Lyle thought to himself.
Oath's gravity rubbed his chin in a calm manner. "Let me see, the basics here and all, I'm twenty-four, almost twenty-five years old— I used to live on an island near Korea before this European metropolis. Until I learned that I'm capable of doing something fascinating, fellas." Childay answered his Oath comrade's request. Artus adopted stars in his eyes. "Lemme, lemme— let us see what's going on with you!" He shouted with unadulterated excitement as he rested his fists balled near his chest. Chilleday gave him a smile while he thought of a fascinating way of showing them. The brothers felt sharp pains through their eyes before opening them again and realizing they were free falling with a small island within the distance. Artus glanced up towards his brother as usual, enjoying the fall, his expression showed his glee. Lyle's expression slowly shifted as the pair seemingly instantaneously returned from the sky. "Could've made my day if you weirdos reacted to my party trick like a normal person?" He heard from an unfamiliar voice in the direction that the three had heard a toilet flushing. Lyle "A Gen-Oath helmet with a dejected expression paired with civilian clothing is totally normal." He replied before he lightly chuckled. Artus aimed his thumb towards his brother. "I'm able to make my L.C.E protect me, to where I'm practically invulnerable and heights don't kill that kid, they only thrill the boy!" He informed the comrade with a dejected expression on his helmet. Kiyo's roommate stood glaring under his beloved helmet. "Alright. A thrill-seeker and invinci-dude— what a duo." He added as he shook his head disapprovingly, "I'm Codagan Dugan, former officer of Seyort's finest, now one of Seyort's otherworldly exterminators." He finished introducing himself. Artus accepted his handshake as Lyle remained quiet. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon loudly cleared his throat before instantaneously moving above it and comfortably perching on top of the glass box. Codagan was taken aback by his fellow enforcer. "How could he have moved out of my boundary?" He kept the question in his thoughts.
Kiyo chuckled softly as he briefly floated above the ground. "I'll show you what's up, keep up real quick, boys!" He replied with a smug smirk. Codagan and the brothers kept pace with Chilleday as the four made their way to a facility under the headquarters. Codagan spun the blunderbuss that he keeps equipped at his hip as they sauntered. "I know my elemental blunderbuss could take out a twenty foot monster but there's no doubts in me that when you've mastered the force that your lemon chiffon adapted to — you'd be the carry for our team against a forty something foot creature, Ki." He opined as they stepped. Kiyo shook his head disapprovingly. "A stranger saved me from a few debt collectors when I first realized I had these powers they're about to be entertained by— but he told me that because I discovered them a year or so ago, twenty something, to not to get my hopes up about me reaching my limit but I've grown so much more since then that I refuse to not see my limit one day. Even if it's after I've retired, just one day." Kiyo declared with an emphasis in his tone on his growth. Codagan tossed out his hand to dap up his new police division mate, the duo grinned as they dapped up one another. Once in the facility, his three fellow division members followed Oath's Gravity's steps through a corridor that led into what was known and intended for an obstacle course from the looks of it. Kiyo tightly shut his eyes as a slight headache and slight sourness in his mouth came upon him yet he powered through the natural consequences to concentrate forcing his essence to submit to him. Oath's gravity's three fellow division members found themselves impressed by the boost in quickness he'd been practicing as he began sprinting from the spectator's zone where they had a great view of the entirety of the course from, though he realized a blank expression was still on Lyle's face. The first obstacle in Oath's Gravity's way of the finish line was a twenty-five foot rope wall. Artus rested his index finger on his temple in disbelief by what he witnessed. "No shot he managed to hop over that wall with one hand on the rope!" Kiyo heard from the humongous marksman with an entertained tone from a distance which brought a confident grin replacing his mildly exhausted expression as he continued his swift sprint towards his next obstacle.
Codagan fired away mud from his blunderbuss behind the team, leaving Artus shocked and Lyle curious. "The rope swing is up next for him. This is the part that he has the most fun with— watch him showboat." He informed the duo from the neighboring city. Kiyo transitions from a cartwheel into a front flip to the first rope over forty foot drop. He failed to reach the rope and plummets. Codagan lightly chuckled as he counted to ten using his fingers. Oath's Gravity returned to the view of his spectators, ascending as if the force of gravity had no grasp over him yet he eventually held a tight grasp over the obstacle course's first rope and drifted past the other few ropes as he sat with one leg over another and his arms resting comfortably clasped behind neck keeping it warm. Lyle's brows slightly went upwards. "He and Art's going to remain great pals after this." He opined with a tone that left Codagan confused about whether he was serious or speaking in jest, as the hands he kept inside his jean's pockets related to the warmth of Kiyo's neck. Artus nodded his head approvingly as he warmly fist bumped his fellow spectators. "The goofy monsters we'll face in the future won't survive our friendship and teamwork!" He shouted while snapping determinedly.
Codagan touched a button on his helmet's cheek as he held a worried expression under it. "Dude, Ki, remember the breathing exercises we've practiced and the temple massaging, your show boat hour is over, reel it in." He said with an urgent tone that was calming slowly as he continued speaking. Lyle and Artus rushed beside Codagan as they witnessed Kiyo, an inchmeal, descending forty feet. Oath's Gravity coughed as he was set on the ground up by Codagan. "Give me an hour to recover, boys, it's soon going to be late afternoon— boys night?" Chilleday asked the brothers with another confident smirk stuck on his face. The brothers looked at each other and agreed without a word to the other. Oath's inescapable visionary nodded approvingly. "Whaddya got in mind?" Codagan asked his fellow squadron member and roommate with a beaming grin. Oath's Sanguine Marksman offered his fist out with Oath's Gravity. "Boys night out?" Artus rhetorically asked while he smirked. Kiyo accepted without hesitation. "BOYS NIGHT!" Chilleday yelled with an elated tone with hints of exhaustion.
Sometime later, the Seyort's duo tour the brothers through the city of Seyort. Kiyo sneezes without covering his nose and shrugging as Lyle stared daggers. "While this city may not be as beautiful and clean as Generil or Alyi— we're demonstrating why this place is the tourist capital!" Chilleday claimed with usual confidence. One of the members of the lyrically challenged city defending quartet first went to a restaurant near the headquarters. "The dazed purlieu" was unique to Seyort.
Lyle refused to drink anything but water, he came up with reasons that he was taught and lived by. Artus' order filled half of the table. "Sometimes, Lyle, you're an absolute square, soldier." Artus opined before he challenged Kiyo. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon shrugged. "There's just no point in it." Lyle replied. Chilleday laughed hysterically. "With my appetite and belly, I've never lost a challenge, big man— so, one final time, are you sure?" Kiyo responded with a cold tone towards the end. Artus threw his arms up. "Nah. You won it, dude. What was up with the suddenly humorless tone?" He asked with genuine curiosity. The three went there and they went there, and each of the sights along the way, they shared. It was an hour into the moon's shift on the job on their corner of the world.
Artus ambled beside the other three as they were on a leisurely walk while the city was lit up. "Yeah, so get this, Lyle was the only one of us who could walk and refused to give up and told the monster in his usually quiet voice. 'My baby brother punches harder than you!' Then killed it in one final instantaneous slash!" Artus regaled, tears came from Codagan and Childay's eyes as the story was hilarious to him. Kiyo wiped a tear from his eye. "A line straight from a spectacular Gumshoe comics writer, dude." He commented. A civilian halted the squad in an urgent tone. "This is for you, meaty fella." Said the civilian while handing a phone over to Oath's Sanguine Marksman. Artus stared confusedly for a brief moment before hearing a voice he recognized. "Yo, Matty— what's up?!" He greeted and asked the voice from the other end of the phone that sounded unfamiliar to Lyle, "Slow. Down. You talk so swiftly?" He finished before hanging up the phone and glancing at an alleyway across the street where they stood. Codagan's brows soared up from his curiosity. "That weird disembodied voice sounds familiar." He wondered aloud as he stopped with the other two. Artus nodded approvingly. "Hopefully, though, he's not necessarily the most social of us." He replied before he had rushed in a hurry in the direction he pointed out for the others. Each of the four surveyed swept the area with their eyes and ears to be assured that it was safe enough for them to instantaneously move their gear down at their feet. After they awakened the power in their accessories, they glanced at the boxes of shimmering pure lemon chiffon essence. After their gear was formed and fitted, they'd decided to form a plan. Artus held his back near the entrance that he led his squadmates to earlier. "Alright, gentlemen, Matty briefed me in his usual five seconds— said that there were twenty people inside of here and right under our noses, a nerd experimenting and nineteen guards fetching materials for their sick projects." He briefed the other three as he conjured and tightly grasped a pump shotgun.
Oath's Gravity slightly smirked before finishing a back and forth that he had with himself during the informing. "This is your day off, fellas, earlier left you bored." Said Chilleday in a whisper as he stood up. Lyle intensely shushed him. "This isn't a game. Stop." He whispered as he gestured for him to lower again. Artus shook his head disapprovingly towards his brother. "He's definitely in need of this boost." He whispered. Lyle watched Kiyo and gathered the idea that he was building up courage from the expression that he held on his face. "C'mon. Let's back him up regardless." Lyle replied as they went by his side.
Kiyo shut his eyes and hugged himself both as tightly as he could manage. "Envision what I want the mysterious force to do for me, rebel against and command it!" Oath's Gravity confidently repeated in his thoughts, "is what he taught me!" He finished. Lyle and Artus were taken aback, though they noticed Codagan held a proud grin. As the warehouse doors tore open, it garnered the attention of those inside who opened fire without hesitation. Lyle gasped lightly, now impressed. "Halting and orbiting bullets. Something." He commented. Artus rested his arm on his brother's shoulder. "Eh— don't become a Kiyocentrist, Ly." He responded in jest.
As the bullets slowly revolved around Kiyo like a planet around its sun, it befuddled the exposed criminals within the warehouse. Oath's ebullient gravity tossed a ball of pure lemon chiffon essence before keep his hand raised high as his eyes glowed with lemon chiffon essence and mysterious pearl river gray flowing down to his shoulder, the ball he tossed landed behind all of the guards protecting the scientist and everyone near and stood in the front of it had violently flew backwards towards it. One of Codagan's brows flew towards the night sky. "Their faces are intimately close to that dirty ground." He said in jest. Their bodies in persistent pain while the twenty all felt the intense pressure of gravity. Lyle and Artus look away from the intense cries of the thugs, some of their bones broken from the pressure Chilleday forced on them.
Chilleday lowered the force of gravity around them for 3 minutes then toned it down, yet the tears still spilled from the criminal's eyes. The three left the scene swiftly after the situation was canceled by them, the Seyort police swarmed in to take care of the men as they would after a Gen-Oath member called it in. The three stood perched above a vantage point across the street from the crime scene as they watched their peers cleaning and investigating. Artus balled one of his fists near his rib cage as he held a beaming grin on him. "Daaaang, I never expected that to be as brutal as it was if I can be honest, bro!" Artus yelled with an astonished tone. Kiyo straightened his back as he sat up on the edge of the roof as he fixed his gaze downward. "Now do you guys truly respect and have confidence in my grasp of gravity?" Chilleday asked, "I could learn to have greater control of it though." He admitted. Artus gently nodded in response as he finished up his salmon sandwich. "Living beings seem to be harder to control for you." He made his observation known. After Kiyo opened up the pack holding his own sandwich, he held off dining. "Honestly, Manipulating the sense of gravity around a living being is harder, which is why if it came down to 40 men or 40 robots, I'd rather take on the legion of robots." Chilleday replied with a more staid tone to his voice.
Lyle appeared behind the trio enjoying the view on the edge of the roof with a large chili dog. "How about the otherworldly monsters?" Lyle asked abruptly. Oath's Gravity rested his chin on his chest. "I've only fought one so far with Codagan." Kiyo responded as honestly as usual while he allowed a leg to hang and the other on the edge. Oath's Sangfroid Paragon swallowed some of the chili dog. "How did the battle against the monster play out?" Lyle asked with the intention of inquiring more, "Ly..." Said Artus in a lowered tone as he tapped him. Oath's Gravity cleared his throat. "It's fine, I've been needing to get this off of my chest for a minute." Kiyo interrupted Artus, "Codagan's the man with the heart and courage on this team, I'm adventurous sure— before this gig though, I was a homeless grifter that lived wherever I could find warmth. Led me to a dangerous person. It was like he was born to do this. I was not, and when I saw that I couldn't do anything against it with my Gravity grasp-- I walked away in my feelings allowing him to finish it with his elemental blunderbuss." Kiyo confessed without any energy in his tone, only a sense of regret and reflection.
Oath's Sangfroid Paragon glanced away. "Well--" Lyle responded with a pause for words. Artus rested his sizable hand on Kiyo's shoulder. "My first time against a monster I hesitated, monsters aren't anything like dealing with humans." Artus butted in as he saw his Brother overthinking a reply. Lyle gave a thumbs up as Artus spoke.
Kiyo tightly balled his fists near his thighs. "Thanks Bro— just don't you worry 'cause that was absolutely the first and only time that'll happen!" Oath's Gravity declared with more base in his voice. Artus noticed overwhelming resolve radiating from him. "This guy's wife and children are definitely going to be proud of him when the day they're waiting for comes by..." Artus reckoned in his mind after hearing how his tone made him sound truly sure-enough as they all watched their peers on the police force at the warehouse finishing their work. He stood up and beamed his smile with Kiyo looking down and thinking about his family as he watched the police do their jobs wondering if they have any family that they're working to provide a comfortable life with a light smile. "You guys wanna go back to top hopping while the sun's down and patrol?!" Kiyo asked with his reinvigorated enthusiasm in his tone and attitude returning. Artus excitedly tossed his hands in the air in a celebratory manner. "Lowkey envious and wishing you could transfer to Generil with us. I wanna leap weightlessly to every case." Artus replied as his answer, "He's mine." Codagan replied before he saluted the Brothers and took a leap of faith descending slowly.
