Peace settled like morning mist over the Son household. Nestled in the remote, forested hills of the 439 Mountain Area, their small home pulsed with warmth, laughter, and the occasional crash from a training mishap—or a dropped rice bowl.
It had been eight months since their return from Yardrat, and Goku had finally found a kind of peace he never thought possible—not in war, nor in godhood, but in domestic life.
Chi-Chi, ever the diligent wife, had taken to pregnancy with fiery grace. She was equal parts warrior and mother, often scolding Goku for leaving his socks on the floor while also warming up herbal soups she swore helped the baby grow stronger.
Goku? He was different now. Still goofy—still Goku—but he no longer wandered the earth with a blank curiosity. There was purpose behind his actions. He loved her—truly loved Chi-Chi—and that love grounded him.
Time Skip – A Month Later
It was early morning when the golden sky shifted to orange, and birds chirped over a sizzling pan. Chi-Chi hummed in the kitchen, her belly round and glowing with life. Goku leaned on the doorway, arms crossed, watching her.
She turned. "What? You're staring."
"I just—" He grinned, rubbing the back of his head. "You look so cool. Like a warrior queen getting ready for battle!"
Chi-Chi rolled her eyes, blushing faintly. "I'm cooking eggs, Goku."
"Still counts."
He walked over and wrapped his arms around her gently, resting his chin on her shoulder.
She sighed. "You're being sweet again. You're going to make me cry. Stop that."
"I'll never stop," he whispered. "Promise."
Despite his growing strength—his God of Destruction power still silently resting in his soul—Goku rarely trained. He had all he needed. Still, he knew the world would one day call on him again. He needed an alibi. Why was Son Goku so strong now?
That's when he remembered something… the Dragon Balls.
Time Skip – Two Weeks Later
Goku stood before Shenron, the green dragon towering before him, casting an ethereal glow across the clearing.
"State your wish."
Goku took a deep breath. "I wish for a portable, soul-bound Hyperbolic Time Chamber. One I can enter anywhere, unlimited times, with unlimited food, and where time inside doesn't age my body."
Shenron's eyes glowed. "Wish granted."
A glimmering armband appeared on Goku's wrist—sleek, smooth, the same color of the armband he always has on, with a swirling vortex symbol.
"Cool," he said, inspecting it. "Thanks, Shenron!"
With a flash of light, the dragon vanished, and the sky returned to normal.
He didn't use it right away. In fact, weeks passed before he even considered stepping inside.
Why?
Because Chi-Chi needed him. Whether it was craving fresh oranges from the Ox-King's farm, rubbing her swollen ankles, or debating baby names (she was still stuck on "Einstein" for some reason), Goku never left her side—unless she left first.
And when she did...
The HBTC(Room of Spirit and Time)
It was one of those rare days when Chi-Chi went to visit her father. She left early in the morning, promising to return by sundown with fresh produce and her father's medicinal herbs.
Goku waved as she flew off on a flying car gifted by Bulma. The second she was gone, he tapped the armband.
FWOOOM!
A shimmering portal opened behind him.
Inside, the space was white, endless, and serene. A replica of their home stood at the center, complete with a rice cooker, training equipment, and a stocked kitchen.
"Let's see how this works," he said, stretching.
He trained.
Two days passed inside. He practiced refining his ki control, spirit fission, and even meditated to communicate more clearly with the divine aspects of his power. Then he took a hot bath, ate some ramen, and stepped out.
Back on Earth, only three hours had passed.
When Chi-Chi returned, he was sitting on the porch, sipping tea.
"Welcome back, Love!" he beamed.
She blinked. "You look... glowing."
He shrugged. "Just missed you, I guess."
She narrowed her eyes. "Uh-huh."
He quickly handed her a bag of sunflower seeds and deflected with a kiss on the forehead. That usually worked.
Time Skip – Gohan is Born
The day Gohan was born was one of the most terrifying and beautiful days of Goku's life.
Chi-Chi screamed like a banshee (he actually tried to run away once, only to be yanked back by Ox-King), and the baby burst into the world with a surprising amount of ki.
Tiny, healthy, and already strong.
Chi-Chi held him first, tears in her eyes. "He's perfect."
Goku sat beside her, staring wide-eyed at the baby's tiny fists. "He's... amazing, Chichi"
Chi-Chi looked at him. "Of course he is. He's ours."
Goku smiled, gently placing a hand on Gohan's head. "Welcome home, Gohan"
Life became a gentle rhythm.
When Chi-Chi was busy with chores or went out to visit Bulma or her father, Goku would sneak into the HBTC and train—a day or two at a time, practicing advanced techniques, controlling divine energy, Sparring with his Multi-clone, and refining martial arts that would appear "natural" when seen later.
He was careful never to overdo it. He didn't want to fall back into his old habits of endless training. This time, family came first.
When Chi-Chi cooked, he helped wash vegetables. When Gohan cried at night, Goku was there to rock him to sleep with gentle humming and light ki massages. The first time he changed a diaper, he screamed, dropped the wipes, and almost blasted it away—but he learned. He adapted.
"I didn't know you could do laundry," Chi-Chi teased one day.
"I've trained with a Swole pervert, a thief with lady problems, and baldie. This is harder," he replied.
They laughed, cuddled, ate.
Gohan, at seven month's old, had spoken his first word "Dada". Gohan was a genius!
Another Training Session
One day, Chi-Chi took Gohan to visit the Ox King for the weekend. Gohan was still technically a prince and next heir. Since Chichi had long denied her duties.
Goku entered the HBTC and spent five full days inside, mastering spirit duplication, The Pefect form of Ultra Instinct and incorporating Super Saiyan, and creating fake ki trails to mask his true power.
When he returned, it had only been four hours.
Chi-Chi found him making dumplings.
"You cook now?"
He nodded. "I'm full of surprises."
She smiled and kissed his cheek. "I like this version of you."
"Me too," he replied softly.
