Chapter 60 - Chapter 60

This chaotic farce was finally resolved when Lansi suddenly flew into a violent rage.

The guards quickly carried away the unconscious Dr. Mu Rin. The only ones left in the room were Carl and Rose, who exchanged a glance. Carl couldn't help but move first.

He stepped forward with a grin, and had just started to speak:

"Tail..."

But before he could finish, Rose silently reached out from the side and grabbed him by the collar. While pulling him toward the door, she cut in ahead of him and said:

"I'll supervise the cleanup with Carl. We won't bother you."

With that final word, Rose dragged Carl out of the room and even closed the door behind her with a surprisingly thoughtful gesture.

During the entire process, Carl remained completely stunned. Even after the door had shut behind them, he was still in a daze.

When he finally looked up, he saw that Wen Yu hadn't reacted at all. That alone was enough to tell Carl that Wen Yu didn't object to Rose's decision. With that, Carl could only give up any resistance.

He looked like a dejected puppy.

Outside the room, Carl still didn't get it.

"What was that for?"

Rose reached out and smacked him on the head, clearly annoyed.

"What were you about to interfere with?"

As Carl yelped, Rose lowered her voice and said:

"We need to hurry and erase all traces of Lansi's presence."

Only then did Carl snap out of it. He quickly followed Rose to the pool.

The murloc corpse floating there was more than enough to attract attention, and definitely something they needed to deal with. As for the rest—

Hadn't Dr. Mu Rin brought people to repair the barrier?

They could let those people handle fishing out the murloc body. After that, they just had to fix the damage to the barrier itself.

That was the plan Rose and Carl had agreed on.

Back in the room.

After Lansi had knocked Dr. Mu Rin out cold, Wen Yu had wrapped him up in a cocoon.

This left Lansi completely stunned. He stood frozen for a moment.

Once everyone had left the room, Lansi finally came back to his senses and weakly said to Wen Yu:

"I think I used too much strength... Did I knock him stupid?"

Just thinking about that loud "bang" made his forehead throb in sympathy.

Wen Yu twitched the corner of his mouth.

"Forget him. Worry about yourself."

"Oh."

Lansi shifted his body left and right under the quilt. After loosening it, he stretched his legs out from under the covers, seemingly eager to show off.

"Look, my legs."

He extended his smooth, beautiful calves in front of Wen Yu and began rhythmically wiggling his soft white toes.

One, two, three, four. Two, two, three, four. One more time.

Wen Yu couldn't help but laugh.

He reached out, pulled Lansi's feet onto his knees, and gave his toes a light squeeze.

"How did you manage this?"

The sensation of squeezing toes was unexpectedly odd.

As Wen Yu pinched them, Lansi felt a jolt of electricity surge from his toes, running straight up his legs and deep into his body. Half of him felt like jelly.

"Just... figured it out, I guess."

Lansi tried to pull his feet back from Wen Yu's grasp, but Wen Yu casually resisted his efforts.

Lansi could only sit there, sulking, as Wen Yu played with his feet like a treasured find.

Maybe it was because they were newly transformed, but Lansi's feet were soft to the point of feeling like they'd break at a touch.

And since he hadn't done much walking, there wasn't a single callus on them.

All in all, they felt... exquisite.

Wen Yu kneaded Lansi's feet with great interest, watching as the pale toes gradually turned a rosy pink under the pressure. When they started twitching restlessly, he didn't stop.

He had been toying with them for a while when Lansi, finally fed up, realized with a dark expression that the man before him was just playing with his feet. He immediately lifted his leg and kicked at Wen Yu.

"Snap out of it."

Wen Yu caught the foot mid-kick, then slowly began to knead his way up the ankle, deliberately lingering there. He only let up when Lansi relaxed again.

Then he asked, as if nothing had happened:

"How did you meet that murloc?"

Wen Yu squeezed his ankle so maliciously that Lansi shivered and fell back against the bed.

He now felt like a fish caught by its tail. No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't escape. What made it even worse was that—annoyingly—Lansi found the kneading oddly comfortable.

"Just... just like that."

Lansi was dazed. He stared up, lying beneath a pile of quilts, his feet pressed together, unable to resist rubbing them against each other.

He felt Wen Yu release the grip that had held him in place.

The bed dipped.

Wen Yu's face appeared above him. He leaned in, lowering his head to cover Lansi, and asked, "And then?"

A little warmth slowly rose from Lansi's newly formed legs, eventually reaching his waist.

"I... I made my cocoon in advance," Lansi murmured.

He stretched his body under Wen Yu's gentle touch, his waist pressing against that wandering hand. Blushing, he held it still, trying to answer the implied question.

"I... I... I don't like it," he said uncertainly.

[Ai——]

The skin on his legs was far too sensitive. A mere touch sent jolts of sensation through him. When Wen Yu grazed that area again, Lansi whimpered involuntarily.

His transformation was still incomplete.

For instance, his newly grown legs were fragile. And as a mermaid, he still had tiny, delicate scales along his waist, beginning at the groin and gradually blending into his skin.

Just now, Lansi couldn't tell if Wen Yu's finger brushed those tiny scales on purpose, but the soft scrape made Lansi tremble all over.

He couldn't take much more of it.

"There are little octopuses in the bathroom," he said abruptly.

Lansi pressed Wen Yu's hand, trembling as he tried to change the subject. "Put... little octopus…"

Earlier, when he went to bathe, Lansi thought the little octopus looked dirty too, so he brought it with him. Afterward, he found it still asleep and, feeling playful, stuck it to the smooth tile wall of the bathroom with a soft "plop."

The octopus, thanks to its suckers, obediently clung to the tile. It looked rather cute that way.

But Wen Yu wasn't paying attention to the little octopus at all. He remained absorbed in exploring Lansi's altered body with keen interest.

He pulled Lansi into his arms, kissing the warmer skin gently while his hands moved around Lansi's waist.

Wen Yu had no interest in Lansi's explanations.

From the moment he first saw him, he had already guessed what had happened.

What fascinated him now was teasing Lansi. He wanted to know what a mermaid was like after nesting.

Suddenly, Lansi cried out, his face turning scarlet.

"You... you let go!"

Wen Yu raised an eyebrow.

"I won't."

He deliberately leaned in closer.

The movement caused Lansi's pupils to dilate. He wrinkled his nose and shook his head. Then, with a soft "chuck," his body changed.

His legs pressed together as the scales at his crotch spread downward with a soft swish, wrapping around both legs. In a matter of seconds, his human form was gone. A beautiful white fish tail took its place.

The tail didn't share its master's embarrassment. It wrapped around Wen Yu's body and curled around his waist.

Wen Yu was startled by the sudden transformation but instinctively reached out to steady the tail before it slipped off him.

"Whew—"

Lansi let out a long sigh of relief. Once he came to his senses, he grumbled, "I told you to stop a long time ago."

Wen Yu stared at him intently, one hand still holding the tail, the other pressing Lansi gently down. His tone grew thoughtful.

"Lansi, what about your ear fins?"

He had wanted to examine Lansi's changes more closely since the moment they met.

Not only had Lansi turned his tail into legs, but he had also transformed his ear fins into human ears. It was such a seamless mimicry that Wen Yu couldn't help but admire it.

Now that the tail had returned, but the ear fins had not, it suggested that Lansi was consciously controlling his form—and his body was responding perfectly.

Wen Yu lowered his head and kissed Lansi's forehead.

Truly his most perfect creation.

Looking at him now, Lansi's upper body was nearly indistinguishable from a human's. Only the fishtail gave away his true identity. If someone else were here, they might think Lansi was just playing mermaid.

But Lansi was a real mermaid.

"Don't... don't kiss me."

Lansi's temperature kept rising, and he found it harder and harder to resist Wen Yu's touch. The longer they were close, the more he craved Wen Yu's embrace.

He tilted his head away, trying to escape Wen Yu's breath, inhaling deeply to calm himself.

But his tail betrayed him, wrapping tighter around Wen Yu. Even the fine scales along his body began to flare open.

Lansi grew both flustered and angry.

He didn't understand why his tail wouldn't obey.

Wen Yu, of course, understood what was happening. He was delighted. He pinned Lansi down, kissed his cheek again, and sighed.

"Our little fish is growing up."

Lansi was so embarrassed he nearly burst into tears.

In fact, he was already crying.

Tiny pearl-like tears rolled down his cheeks and vanished into the bedding.

"It's so hot…"

Lansi curled his tail, his rising body temperature making him uncomfortable. He choked on his words.

"I want to go back into the water."

No wonder he felt hot.

Wen Yu nodded and picked him up without hesitation.

Startled, Lansi wrapped both arms around Wen Yu's neck. His upper body clung to Wen Yu, while his long tail stubbornly coiled around Wen Yu's waist, refusing to let go.

"It's alright," Wen Yu murmured, turning his head to kiss Lansi's cheek.

"Let's go to the bathroom next door."

The small bathroom was only a few steps away. Wen Yu figured it would do for now.

If there weren't so many people around, he would've taken Lansi to the large jacuzzi outside instead.

Lansi gave a quiet "mm" and buried his face in Wen Yu's neck like a shy little ostrich.

Minutes later, Lansi lay in the small bathtub.

It was truly tiny—just enough for Lansi to fit. Even so, more than half of his tail fin hung out over the edge.

The tub was filled with cold water, but Lansi still felt hot. He mumbled to Wen Yu:

"I think I have a fever."

Wen Yu only smiled in response.

Lansi grew impatient with the lack of reaction. He lay against the side of the tub and said to Wen Yu:

"I want to swim."

Wen Yu stroked his head and said, "The pool needs to be cleaned. We'll go back once it's ready."

Lansi suddenly remembered the dead murloc floating in the pool and pouted.

Later, he turned to Wen Yu again.

"I want to sing."

Something was off today. Lansi felt an overwhelming urge to swim and sing—but only in front of Wen Yu.

"Wait for me a moment," Wen Yu said before leaving the bathroom.

He returned a few minutes later, squatted in front of the tub, and said gently:

"They're all gone now. You can sing."

Lansi nodded solemnly.

"I know I can't be discovered, so I'll sing quietly."

Wen Yu couldn't help smiling at that.

Lansi didn't notice. He focused entirely on Wen Yu and began to hum softly.

It was a song Wen Yu had once sung to him. Back on the sea, after Lansi saved him, Wen Yu had hummed that same tune in return.

They had bonded over that melody.

Now, instinctively increasing his courtship chances, Lansi sang it back to Wen Yu.

Wen Yu was stunned for a moment, then leaned in, his gaze growing gentler.

Noticing this, Lansi brightened and sang a little louder.

As a mermaid, singing to someone you like was a form of attraction. Wen Yu's approach confirmed that it worked.

If they were in the ocean, the next step would be dragging Wen Yu underwater.

"Louder," Wen Yu whispered.

While Lansi was still debating whether to lower his voice, Wen Yu suddenly leaned forward.

This time, it was a real kiss.

Their lips met.

Catching Lansi off guard, Wen Yu slipped his tongue inside gently.

Lansi: ??

The singing stopped in the bathroom.

Lansi was stunned. Then he smelled it—that mysterious scent again.

But this time, he realized clearly: it came from Wen Yu.

That fragrance seduced him.

He hesitated, but didn't push Wen Yu away.

His obedience pleased Wen Yu.

He wrapped Lansi in his arms, kissed his flushed skin, and held him close. One hand circled Lansi's waist, pinning him in place. The other slid down along the delicate scales.

Lansi, dizzy from the kiss and burning with fever, could hardly think. Whatever Wen Yu was doing no longer mattered.

Wen Yu's fingers brushed against the softest patch of scales and noticed Lansi's helpless reaction.

He kissed him again, and his hands grew gentler.

[Yi——]

When Wen Yu touched the tender area beneath the scales, Lansi whimpered softly.

Slender fingers slipped into the secret spot, stroking with patience and care.

A mermaid's body was different from a human's. This intimate inspection revealed evolutionary oddities—like a small, underdeveloped genital cavity.

It might be because Lansi, being a male mermaid, had genes that deprioritized this trait.

[Ai——]

Lansi looked like he was about to cry.

He started to struggle instinctively.

"Is it uncomfortable? It'll pass," Wen Yu said softly.

The scent in the bathroom grew stronger.

Lansi didn't answer. His tail swayed violently from the discomfort, but Wen Yu held him tightly, making escape impossible.

Eventually, Lansi's body tensed and then relaxed.

"Feeling better now?" Wen Yu asked, slightly breathless himself.

"Mmh," Lansi murmured, his voice faint.

He lowered his eyes, not daring to look at Wen Yu.

His eyelashes fluttered gently as he lay soft and relaxed in Wen Yu's arms. The unusually high temperature in his body slowly cooled, and the strange blush on his face seemed to fade away.

Before Wen Yu could say anything, Lansi yawned, tilted his head, and fell asleep.

This could hardly be blamed on Lansi. After all, he had just formed his cocoon the day before. After experiencing such an intense and stimulating examination as soon as the cocoon emerged, it was only natural that he would fall asleep once he relaxed.

"..."

Wen Yu held Lansi in his arms, now deep in sleep, and for the first time, he began to think seriously. It turned out that Liu Xiahui's confusion in the human story was not unfounded.

With a complicated mix of emotions, Wen Yu carefully lifted Lansi out of the bathtub.

Interestingly, perhaps because Lansi subconsciously knew he couldn't reveal his fish tail in front of others, his tail began to change on its own shortly after Wen Yu took him out of the water, turning back into a pair of legs.

Wen Yu carried Lansi back to the bed. He looked at him for a long time, unable to resist gently pinching Lansi's nose beneath the quilt and whispering softly into his ear:

"My little fish has grown up."
