While eating, I chatted with Teacher Tan about research.
Teacher Tan is an expert in laparoscopic procedures, as well as a specialist in general surgery and gastrointestinal tumor surgery. Teacher Tan's traditional surgical methods and laparoscopic techniques are equally top-notch, and his treatment plans for tumor patients outside of surgery are also first-rate.
It is laughable to imagine that the scope of academic research Teacher Tan can perform is limited to laparoscopic procedures. It's like the Immortal Brother rarely performs heart transplant surgeries but studies auxiliary devices for end-stage heart treatment.
For a surgeon, conducting research, surgery is an advantage, reflected in the ability to study various surgeries. On the other hand, in basic academic fields, surgeons have an advantage primarily due to the pathology specimens they collect.
