Chapter 57 - Chapter 57:The queen of destiny

The reason behind everything, the cause of all events, and the one about whom even Christ asks, is a single woman. She alone is the reason not only for heaven and Amaravati, but for the entire nation. That woman's name is Chandravathi. She was the first queen of Amaravati's throne. Many people trembled when they witnessed her rule. Her powers and her darkness were beyond words. Yet, through cunning and deceit, the demon Parantakan trapped her in his illusion and imprisoned her.

Our land has a name — it is called Thevanagari. Our king was Kadaran. To him was born a child, Chandravathi. For many years, Kadaran had no children, and so he performed penance. As a divine boon, Chandravathi was born. From her childhood, she possessed extraordinary powers. Kadaran's sister was Thanthirai, and her daughter was me — Agnika. From the beginning, Chandravathi and I were always together. We lived happily without any troubles.

One day, Chandravathi said that she wished to go to the seashore. So I too went with her. While bathing there, Chandravathi slipped, and suddenly a man held her. Their eyes met, and they felt a deep connection in their hearts. That man was none other than Ratrangasan. After that, we returned home, but for the next two days Chandravathi could not forget Ratrangasan. She went back to the shore, and there he was again. Chandravathi and Ratrangasan spoke openly to each other. They continued to meet at that place for many days, and love blossomed between them.

From her childhood, Chandravathi had heard stories about Ratrangasan's bravery, and she admired him. Seeing him in person, she was captivated by his courage. Not only that, Ratrangasan was loved by all, and he helped many people. This impressed Chandravathi even more. When she realized that the man she had met was indeed Ratrangasan, her admiration grew stronger. They began meeting daily.

But Parantakan, jealous of their bond, went to Ratrangasan's father and revealed everything. He said: "If Chandravathi marries Ratrangasan, she will ascend Amaravati's throne. Though we belong to the royal family, we are only protectors and cannot sit on Amaravati's throne. If Ratrangasan marries Chandravathi, she will become queen." Hearing this, Parantakan began plotting. The king ordered soldiers to capture us. Suddenly, a sword flashed before us, and everyone trembled. It was Ratrangasan's sword. He stood before us, declaring: "From now on, protecting Chandravathi will be my duty until my last breath. I will care for her without any fault. My words will not vanish into the air; they will be written in time itself." Saying this, he cut his hand with his sword, shed blood, and swore an oath. Seeing this, Kadaran fully trusted him and gave his consent.

After that, we were taken from Thevanagari to Amaravati. In the royal assembly, Ratrangasan declared: "I do not want the throne. It is enough if Chandravathi is with me. If I marry her, she should not ascend the throne. I will remain king, but she will be my queen." Saying this, he held Chandravathi's hand. Shatrugan then admitted his mistake and announced: "On the fourth day, Ratrangasan and Chandravathi will be married. The next day, Ratrangasan will be crowned king." This shocked Parantakan.

The marriage took place, and Ratrangasan ascended the throne. Soon, Chandravathi bore a child. But Parantakan, still scheming, managed to imprison Ratrangasan. He tried to seize the throne, but Chandravathi stopped him. She summoned Rudra Senan, and after Shatrugan's death, Parantakan tried again to ascend the throne. But Chandravathi rose to power, sat on the throne, and began ruling. She also vowed to free Ratrangasan from his wrongful imprisonment.

Parantakan spread lies, even claiming that Agnika — that is, me — had killed Shatrugan. He created false witnesses and manipulated Rudra Senan to imprison Chandravathi. But Chandravathi's powers were unstoppable. She fought bravely, defeating many warriors. Her strength was such that soldiers fled, unable to withstand her.

Finally, Parantakan tricked King Kadaran, Chandravathi's father, into restraining her with magical bindings. He declared false words over her and imprisoned her, just as he had done with Ratrangasan.
