"The fuck did you say?" Hakor asks, rising his voice with a growl behind it, clearly very angry at the audacity of Amon to come to his home and demand that his wealth be returned to him after everything he did.
This man fucked his wife. His most prized possession, and now he dares to come here, and instead of asking for forgiveness and begging for mercy? He does this?
How can Hakor, a proud, wealthy, arrogant man, tolerate this?
"I said I want what you took from my house back," Amon repeats himself.
Hakor is shaking with anger.
"And what if I don't?" Hakor asks, wanting to hear what Amon's alone going to do.
"What? Are you so poor that you can't even give back the little gold you took from me? Don't tell me all this display of wealth is just for show, but in reality, you are worse off than a beggar?" Amon says, trying to escalate the situation even further. He doesn't even bother answering Hakor's question, as you don't tell a sacrificial lamb that it's going to be sacrificed.
