At present, nine people were sitting inside Jun Mo Xie's courtyard, out of which Dugu Xiao Yi was sitting next to Jun Mo Xie since her little pet was sitting in his arms. Jun Wu Yi had strolled away in his wheelchair to a distance since he didn't wish to intervene in this gathering of the younger generation. However, he was still close enough to keep an eye on things.
The seven Dugu Brothers had spent a lot of time last night bragging about their victories over Jun Mo Xie to save face in front of their sister, but it was obvious that they still wished to get back at him for all the suffering that he had inflicted on them. However, all seven brothers were behaving themselves very well at the moment since they knew that they were in Jun Wu Yi's presence.
Their father, the invincible general Dugu Wudi, had always spoken very highly of Jun Wu Yi, but had told them that the man was now 'the shadow of a once-great tree'!
The seven Dugu brothers had heard about the legends of the three great Jun brothers from their father, their uncles, their grandfather, and several other sources right from their early childhood days, and were capable of reciting those tales backward.
The white generals – Jun Wu Hui, Jun Wu Meng, and Jun Wu Yi!
The stories about their military might and accomplishments had been circulated around the military divisions of the entire nation to the extent that they had already been transformed to the position of legends in the hearts and minds of every soldier.
Dugu Wudi had always expressed that he wished his sons to be similar to the three sons of Jun Zhan Tian.
Their proud father considered no man to be his equal, but when it came to the subject of the three Jun brothers, he'd remain silent out of respect and admiration...
Under the soft glow of sunlight streaming through, Jun Mo Xie sat comfortably, his fingers lightly resting on the small, sleek body of the Iron-Winged Panther cub. His expression was calm, almost indifferent, as if what he was doing was of little importance.
Yet, despite his relaxed demeanor, a silent power surged beneath his fingertips, flowing like an unseen river, steady and controlled. The cub trembled slightly, its golden eyes flickering with both excitement and apprehension.
He wa chatting with the eight guests simultaneously while performing the miraculous skill.
And after a few minutes, the process was done, and none of the eight people were able to distinguish the changes.
Yet, in the midst of their confusion, one person did notice.
Standing slightly apart from the gathering, Jun Wu Yi's sharp eyes flickered with understanding.
He had been observing closely, not just the cub, but the faintest, near-imperceptible movements of his nephew's fingers, the way energy subtly pulsed through his veins, the micro-adjustments in his breathing. And now, as he stared at the little Iron-Winged Panther, realization dawned on him.
It had grown stronger.
Not just physically, but fundamentally. Its very essence had been refined.
Jun Wu Yi's eyes shone like stars as he let out a quiet breath. "Mo Xie… truly, your skills have reached an unfathomable level."
His whispered words were barely audible, but Jun Mo Xie caught them nonetheless. He shot his uncle a knowing look, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Uncle, you always were sharp."
With a soft flick of his tail, Little White suddenly wriggled out of Jun Mo Xie's embrace and, like a streak of silver lightning, leaped straight into Dugu Xiao Yi's arms.
"Ah!" The young maiden barely had time to react before the small, fluffy panther nestled itself into her chest, rubbing against her affectionately.
Little White's tiny body trembled with excitement, his bright eyes gleaming like polished gems. He let out a series of playful chirps and purrs, wriggling in her grasp as if trying to communicate something grand. If he could speak, he would have been shouting.
'Master, look! Look at me! I've advanced! I'm amazing! Wow! Ha ha ha...'
Yet, instead of the admiration and awe he expected, all he got was a head rub and cooing giggles.
"Little White, you're so cute!" Dugu Xiao Yi exclaimed, her delicate fingers stroking his fur with pure adoration. Her eyes curved into happy crescents, her soft laughter filling the room.
Little White blinked. 'Huh? This… this wasn't right.'
Where was the shock? The awe? The admiration? The loud gasps of disbelief?
He had just undergone a transformation! His body had strengthened, his aura had grown more refined, his latent potential had skyrocketed—and yet, his master was treating him like a common house pet!
He squirmed harder, flicking his little wings and letting out a dramatic huff, as if to say.
'Master, come on! Look closer! I'm different! I've grown stronger! How can you not see it?!'
But Dugu Xiao Yi simply giggled again and pinched his tiny ears, completely oblivious to his frustration.
From the side, Jun Wu Yi almost popped his eyes out of their sockets. His gaze flickered between the excited beast cub and his clueless niece, disbelief washing over his features.
"This… this is…!" He wanted to say something, but found himself at a loss for words.
As an experienced cultivator, Jun Wu Yi could clearly feel the drastic change in the cub's aura. The beast had evolved, its energy denser, its presence more refined. Even though it still looked adorable and fluffy, it was no longer just an ordinary cub!
And yet, the little troublemaker of the Dugu Family remained blissfully unaware.
Jun Mo Xie nearly choked on his wine. He had seen a lot of ridiculous things in his life, but this? This was something else.
Dugu Xiao Yi had always treated Little White as nothing more than a glorified kitten, hugging and spoiling him endlessly.
But this was a high-level Xuan Beast!
A creature that could, in time, grow into a terrifying predator!
And now, instead of being revered, instead of being treated with the respect and awe befitting his status, the poor cub was being cuddled like a teddy bear.
Jun Mo Xie sighed dramatically, shaking his head, whispering to himself, "Poor Little White… your grand achievement, your evolution… all wasted on an oblivious girl who thinks you're nothing more than an oversized plush toy."
Little White's ears drooped slightly, his initial excitement now replaced by silent despair.
Jun Wu Yi coughed, holding back a chuckle. "Xiao Yi… do you not feel anything different about Little White?"
Dugu Xiao Yi blinked, tilting her head. "Hmm?"
She turned her gaze to the panther cub in her arms, examining him seriously for the first time.
Little White stared back, eyes full of hope.
A moment of silence.
"Nope! He's just as cute as ever!" She grinned.
Little White nearly fainted.
Jun Mo Xie facepalmed.
Jun Wu Yi sighed. "Forget it…"
At that moment, Little White finally accepted the cruel reality. No matter how strong he became, he would forever remain just a fluffy pet in his master's eyes.
And so, with a long, defeated sigh, he simply snuggled into her arms, resigning himself to his fate.
