POV Sebastian
"Really!?" he said excitedly. I rolled my eyes at his enthusiasm. You know, I thought you would have grown up by now, but you're still just a child." I said, laughing. He huffed in annoyance. " I'm 90 years old, Sebastian. I'm not a child."
"You will always be a child to me, little brother," I say, laughing harder at his expression. "How old are you anyway, Seb? You still haven't told me?" He asked, "Carlisle, don't you know it's bad manners to ask someone their age? " I said, sneaking up behind him, putting him into a headlock, and rubbing his head. "Oh, come on, Sebastian, are you ever going to tell me?"
"Mmmm, maybe when you're older," I say, jumping back onto the couch. He sighs in annoyance. "Anyway, how are you going to stop the Volturi from reading my mind?" he asked. "I cannot stop him from reading your mind, but I can hypnotize you into forgetting about me," I explain to him. "Wait, wouldn't I lose all my memory of you though!?" He asked seriously. "Yes, but I should be able to recover them once you decide to leave the Volturi," I say with a smirk.
Time Change to the next day
POV Carlisle
Today I'm going to leave for Italy, which I am excited about, but also sad. After I was forced into this undead life. I had been running from civilization, trying to keep what little humanity I had left. But that all changed. When I was struck by Sebastian.
Startle! He pinned me to the ground and sank his fangs into my throat. Before I could ever attempt to push him off. He was already getting off me. Terrified, I thought the vampires that had bitten before had caught up to me. It was right when panic was about to take me that I saw it. He had a long black snake tail connected to his torso.
He was not Human!
His scales, although beautiful, were marred by thick scars that went down his entire tall. His upper haft was just as marked as the bottom haft. Skinny as a skeleton, the 20-year-old-looking man had long black hair with tan skin and golden cat-like eyes.
The conversation that followed soon after the man released me changed my fate forever. Since then, I have been able to get back to my human life, even though there have been some changes. Not all bad, though I have become a doctor and have gained a friend that I could even consider a brother. However, today I am leaving both behind so I can learn more about this new life of mine and hopefully change it for the better. Although Seb thinks convincing the Volturi to become "vegetarian" is pointless, I still have hope.
I am a little worried about leaving Sebastian alone for a longer time. He usually has a laid-back personality, his only hobbies being booze and sex. This makes me think he uses them to distract himself from his past. From what he's told me, it was like an illegal sex ring for women. I can still tell his past haunts him. Thankfully, he seems to be better or at least on the road to recovery. So that's good. I'm sure he'll be fine; he's probably been alive for centuries after all. I swear to god if I find out he is only a year older than me, I'm going to make his life hell for all the teasing he does.
As I am saying my goodbyes to Sebastian, he hands me a wooden box, saying it's a farewell present. I open it to find a golden necklace with a black snake scale at the end. "I was going to give it to you for your birthday, but since you are leaving, I wanted to give it to you early." He says with a heart-warming smile that almost brings me to tears. He was so skitchs when we were first learning to live together. I am so grateful that we were able to open up to one another.
Coming out of my thoughts of the past, I ask, "But won't the Volturi find out about you?" "They might, but I think it will be good for you to go and learn more about your species and its history. Also, it will be easier for me to find you if you have something with my magic in it." He replies, to which I become stiff with shock, " MAGIC!!? You can do MAGIC???" I scream in shock in response, and he immediately covers my mouth with my hands. "Shhh, do you want me to get burned at the stake?" he says, looking around.
"Sorry, sorry, but seriously, why didn't you tell me?" I ask slightly annoyed, "Come on, Carlisle, if magic wasn't real, how would we be talking right now?" He says, rolling his eyes at me.
"Fine, I concede you have a point, but when I get back, you are telling me everything," I say seriously. "Sure," he says, laughing with an evil smile. He then takes the necklace out of my hands and puts it around my neck. "Alright, since you have everything now, I am going to get started. You might be a little confused when you wake up; however, it shouldn't last long." Once he finished his sentence, he snapped his finger, and my mind went blank.
When I open my eyes, I'm in the middle of the forest, and I stand there perplexed for a moment, wondering why I stopped. I look behind me to see the village I had lived in for the last couple of years, and feel a weak emotion of sadness to be parting. Only to shake it off and continue my journey to Italy.
