Ernesto stiffened, Dominic's words having its desired effect.
Seeing as Ernesto wasn't going to speak, Dominic went on. " I haven't been able to make a single decision for myself in years. My life hasn't been my own in a while and it will not change for a long time to come. I was just sick of it."
Each word was a molded rock tossed at Ernesto and he was made of glass. Some only dented, others threatened to shatter him.
" Why here? Why are you with her?" Claudia had left, giving them privacy but she could just as well be hiding in a corner listening to their conversation.
" I have known her since we were children, she is a good friend of mine." Was all Dominic offered, deciding that was all Ernesto deserved to know.
" You don't need to stay here anymore. I understand you want a break from it all, I will buy a house for you here in Milan if you still don't want to come back but you can't keep staying here." Ernesto argued but Dominic looked unconvinced.
