Chapter 25 - 1 Gold?

Mu Lan quickly unequipped his Advanced Alchemist's Robe. Wearing it in public would draw too much attention—no one else was crafting yet, let alone wearing master-tier gear.

Soon, the two arrived in Farewell City and headed straight for the bank.

"Beng," Mu Lan said, "first, deposit that Shadow Wolf Fang. Then let's tally our copper and decide what to do next."

Without wasting time, Beng handed the fang to the banker and checked his inventory.

"I've got 60 Copper. How much do you have?"

"I've got 20 Copper," Mu Lan replied. "That's 80 total—not even enough for 1 Silver. But it's a start. Now, remember how I said that fang would be useful? Want me to tell you what it's for… or would you rather stay in suspense while we gather the other materials?"

"Do I look like the suspense type?" Beng shot back. "Spit it out! I barely held it together on the walk here—how much longer do you think I can wait?"

"Alright, alright," Mu Lan chuckled. "That Shadow Wolf Fang is used in high-tier weapon crafting—not cheap junk, but real gear: maces, bows, even shields. It's a core material. And the weapons made from it? They're one tier above your Soulshield."

Beng's eyes widened. "You're serious? If you're lying, we're done. There's no way you could know all this less than a week after launch!"

"I told you—I'll explain everything in time," Mu Lan said firmly. "For now, do you want power? Do you want to become the richest, strongest players on the server? Because I can turn your 60 Copper into 1 Gold today. And with that Gold, I'll buy the materials to craft you a legendary mace. What do you say?"

Beng didn't hesitate. "Your money is my money, you know that. But honestly? I can't even imagine how you'll make 1 Gold in a day in a game this brutal."

He handed over all 60 Copper. Now, he walked the streets with zero in his pockets—but his heart pounded with anticipation. Mu Lan had promised him a legendary weapon. And if anyone could deliver, it was him.

"First," Mu Lan said, "we rent a room at the inn. It costs 20 Copper. That leaves us 60. With that, we'll buy supplies: glass vials and herbs."

"Glass vials?" Beng frowned. "What are we, potion vendors now? Are we here to play or to run a shop?"

"You remember my robe, right?" Mu Lan tapped his chest. "It's Advanced Alchemist's Robe—boosts success rate and gives bonus output. Once we buy the materials, you'll see exactly what I'm planning. For now… stay curious."

"Fine," Beng sighed. "Let's check the market. Maybe someone's selling what we need."

They hurried to the Player Market, where an NPC vendor displayed all player-listed items—for a small commission, you could find almost anything.

Mu Lan opened the interface:

Green Herb x1 – 1 Copper – Seller: Ah…

Green Herb x2 – 2 Copper – Seller: We…

Green Herb x5 – 5 Copper – Seller: Xa…

Blue Herb x1 – 1 Copper – Seller: Xa…

Pink Herb x1 – 1 Copper – Seller: OO…

Yellowlung Herb x30 – 30 Copper – Seller: Ma…

Pinklung Herb x50 – 50 Copper – Seller: Ma…

Mu Lan's eyes lit up.

Perfect. No one knows the value of these yet.

He immediately purchased 20 Yellowlung Herbs and 20 Pinklung Herbs—the exact ingredients for a high-tier healing potion that wouldn't be discovered by the masses for weeks.

"Now," he said, turning to Beng, "let's get the glass vials. But not from the NPC—player-sold vials are marked up to 5 Copper each! The NPC sells them for 1 Copper. Who in their right mind pays 5?"

Beng shook his head in awe.

"You're not just playing the game, Mu… you're playing the players."

And with that, the two set off—not just to craft, but to dominate the economy before anyone else even knew it existed.
