The Nine Witch Clans (The Great Witch Clans, The Aashierah) are descendants of the first users of magic; the group of women called the Daughters of Magik. The witches of every clan inherited the special ability given to the Daughters of Magik by the Cloaked One.
The Grant Clan...Named after the lover of Aurelia, the Grant Clan are blessed with powerful light magic. After hundreds of years, many members of the clan are diverse, but the main family (most direct descendants of Aurelia and Grant), are Romanian descent and the Moors (North African Muslims) The Light magic of the Grants rivaled the dark magic of the Wiremu's, some witches of the family (mainy direct descendants of Aurelia) were blessed with Aurelia's gift of Angel Wing. She had the ability to fly with giant white feathered wings, a gift she called Angel Wing. The family resides in Miami Florida, with few members spread out in the southern region of the U.S
The Jamison Clan... Named by Jamiye Jr. the son of Rhiannon and Jamiye. The Jamison clan are masters of voodoo. Rhiannon was a nomad that traveled to all around the Roman Empire before heading towards Africa. The mother of voodoo, she did not begin her family until the early 16th century after following in love with her pupil. Voodoo as witchcraft was created by Rhiannon and the western Africans, but Sorcery Voodoo, given to her by the Cloaked One was dark and powerful. She was also blessed with the gift of vison which few of her descendants inherits. The family currently resides in Florida, keeping in touch with the Grants. The ninth great grandchild of Rhiannon (Aiyana) would be hailed as matriarch of the clan and queen of voodoo
The Cadstone Clan...Descendants of Eralia, members of the family are blessed with divination. They usually focus on using practical light magic instead of manipulating forces like fire. Many members of the family can use sorcery, Card magic like their ancestor Eralia. Card magic allows a user to place a spell in a card and the card can be used however the uses see fit. Most members also have a seer ability. Some can see someone's future randomly, some by touch, some by sight, some by looking through a crystal ball. Having a seer ability in this family is common. The family is split into three branches, The Cadstone branch, the Blackstone branch and the Stonegher branch. The Head of the Family is the Great Witch who is selected by the dead witches of the family. The Great Witch can be male or female but the ancestors always select a Cadstone, direct descendant of Eralia. The Cadstones currently live in Los Angles. The Blackstones and Stoneghers moved to San Fransico but many of them are still spread out. They migrated from New Orleans, in the early 2010s.
The Benoit Clan...The Benoit clan lived in the Americas for most of the time after the fall of the Roman Empire, however many members rested in West Africa during the 12-13th century. They later found their selves in the Caribbean during enslavement and Beatrice's descendants decided to stick together as a family, taking the name Benoit as it means blessed and they believed their family was blessed by the Cloaked One thousands of years ago. The Benoit Clan is a much smaller family, with about twenty-five members in current time. The Benoits were blessed and cursed with a seer ability. The power to see into someone's or your own future, past and present but at the cost of losing your sight the more you use the power. Some members of the clan survived without sight, using their seer abilities to see through everyday lenses. Others chose death over blindness, which why the family is so small because every Benoit has the ability. Some are taught not to use it, if they want their sight. The Benoit clan also had powerful Astral projection abilities, able to astral project into a place, or a mind or another planet/dimension. Their astral projections also had the ability to use magic when astral projection which is very impossible for other witches. The family now lives in Haiti, however there a few members that live in the NYC area of new york.
The Westbrooks... are spanish descent, they got their name after deciding to flee west for a better life during the 15th Century. The Westbrooks are a big family of diverse Spanish people, they have another family of relatives with the name of Westbourne. The Westbrooks are crazy powerful when it comes to using spells of the elements. Powerful members of the family, sometimes heads of the family are granted the title of Calamity by the ancestors. The Westbrooks are storm bringers, and elders of the family practice old magic and sorcery giving them a great amount of respect. The Westbrooks reside in Charleston, South Carolina, while the Westbournes reside reside in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
The Thomas Clan...is the most diverse clan, although the main family are caucasian and african-american. Faustina, a Daughter of Magik was a Viking that traveled all over. She traveled even more after receiving sorcery magic of portals and teleportation. This lead to members of the family living all around the world. With sorcery barley being taught, members of the family used practical witchcraft and the drawings of runes and magic circles for instant teleportation. The creation of portals that allow anyone to pass through is rare in current time and can only be done by elders of the family or the main family, (like Kristen). Immediate family members of Kristen live and hide in Clairwood, while many other Thomas witches live everywhere else, even in other countries and continents.
The Walkers...got that name because many of the members lived in forests, always walking to find new or create new flora with their magic. The Walkers were a tribe of nomads that consisted of Egyptians, and later other races after their travels. During the 1800s, they found the Westbrooks in Charleston and began to settle down with them, ending their nomadic traditions. The Walkers were practitioners of pagan magic, and every year their family reunites for a big party and ritual that blesses them for their worship and belief of the Cloaked One. Like Antheia, the Daughter of Magik, her descendants were blessed with a powerful affinity for nature and plants. Some members can even use plant sorcery just like Antheia. The ancestors would select a Designee for the family, usually selecting a direct descendant of Antheia. The Designee would be seen as matriarch or patriarch and would be the one to host the annual party and ritual which is very important to the Walkers.
The Bello Clan... is the least membered clan. Named after the Daughter of Magik, Lauryn after being known as the woman of beauty, using her magic to remain young for thousands of years. Lauryn was blessed with with sorcery of healing, she could heal any wound or disease, later creating the serum for immortal which she used onherself. She also practiced her sorcery to create Eldritch Magic, the power to channel power of an otherworldly being, a being of higher power. To this day, only three generations of Bellos have ever existed, Lauryn and her children, and her children's children. Lauryn partnered with a Dominican Republic man, so her children, and descendants will be Romanian and Dominican descent. Lauryn grants her family passage to the Land of Witches, given to them by the Cloaked One, so they can choose to live on earth or in the dimension where it is only witches.
The Wiremu/ Williams Clan... Named years later after the lover of Josephine, a Maori Tohunga of a voyaging group that voyaged the waters of the pacific two thousand years ago. The Wiremu are of Egyptian-Sicilian descent (Josephine) and Polynesian descent (Magus's father). Josephine is famous for sharing and creating witchcraft, and birthing Magus, the darkest witch to ever live. Every member of the Wiremu clan are born with dark magic, reflecting the light magic users of the Grant clan but, first born witches in this family are special. They are born with a powerful amount of magic, making them even more feard dark magic witches. This was seen when Magus, firstborn of Josephine was born, and his magic power was double Josephine's. The Wiremu clan is big, and after the hunting of witches during the 16th-17th century, members of the family changed their names to Williams. There are Wiremu witches that reside with Josephine in the Cloaked One's land, waiting for the King. There is a family of Wiremus that live on a planet called Elianea, a planet in the same star system as Magia Terra (the setting for FAFH 1 and KOA 3). The bigger half of the family lives in Sicily, Italy's biggest island. The only members that live in the America's are a small group of Wiremu's living in Clairwood (not including Aarion since he does not know them)
