Phoenix and Jay stratergize their plans and set them in motion. Phoenix ordered the head researcher to round up all of the researchers. Except the ones performing the surgery.
And the android was set in motion to search out for any body of body part even blood stains on the lower three floors.
While the surgical hall was monitored closely so that the boys life wouldn't be endangered. By both cameras and two spare androids. And two androids searching for dead bodies.
The gathered researchers were begging to leave the facility.
And Phoenix had to calm them down. And things were like a pressure cooker it was steaming inside waiting to burst out in a moment.
But the researchers weren't ready to listen for them outside they had families waiting for them to return safely. Some researchers who didn't have anyone waiting for them (their wife, parents) or who had lost everything. We're the most calm. Those who lost everything were behaving as if they were looking forward to their death or clininging to their life and those with no one waiting for them in them the ones with no wives were desperate to survive but still calm.
The there are optimistic ones. Who believe everything will be sunshine and roses Easy to manipulate, very enthusiastic to help.
Finally the the normal ones who are very frightened about the entire situation. They are difficult to control because of their rising anxiety and fear. And if they reach the trigger point a revolt could take place
The problem is the train of logic everyone here is a PhD holder and are very competent. Thus the reasoning with logic is difficult. So it would be hard to argue any decision.
For it might be met with a backlash.
With rudimentary things considered. Phoenix and Jay divided their tasks. Phoenix will be responsible for the interviews and the decisive decision and Jay would be responsible for peacekeeping.
With this in mind both of them discussed the tactics. Psychologically pressuring someone, using lie detector, making shady deals. And a pointer test. Using a small sterilized endodermic needle to pierce the skin as a small stab. This is a very unreliable method.
Because in this world there are many alternatives which has made using needles outdated.

There is an research paper published which states that using teleport and precise positioning it might be possible to administer the patient their dose in the veins without even leaving the facility or their home. But the patient needs to be stationery or in some cases be restrained
AND has future potential in administration while moving and during a war scenario. Thus decreasing death rates even further)

The door slid open and out came Jay boasting his authority.
Alongside the one who held the actual authority Phoenix.
Phoenix :
We believe that the Doppelgänger is hiding among us. The door will not open unless and until we find the Doppelgänger.
But there is no need to worry. Here with me is the Hero who has liberated the slave island. He will protect you from harm.

A woman came upto Phoenix and pleaded her case.
Woman :
Please I need to leave. I have a sickly mother and a child who is waiting for me.
Phoenix :
We ask for your cooperation, the more smoothly we can operate the faster we arrest the Doppelgänger and the sooner you can leave.
Phoenix :
We will call a researcher one by one in a room to interview them. When your name is called head into the room.
AND with this an order was established. Jay kept watch over both the rooms one by cameras and going on a random intervals to make sure that the feed is consistent and not looping. But during those times. Keeping a headcount at all times. Keeping tabs on the surgery. Monitoring the androids as they send reports on a set interval of time.
But the most important. Breaking up fights and making sure the Doppelgänger cannot pull any stunts.
Phoenix :
Rhonda Samson enter.
A black toned researcher entered the room where she was seated in an enclosed room with only one table and two chairs and a suspicious looking machine.
Phoenix :
Answer the questions I ask truthfully. Here I have a lie detector which is monitoring your brain waves and heartrate all the traits which a person has when they lie. And I will be injecting you with the truth serum so you will lie less.
Phoenix took saline
Phoenix :
First question.
Phoenix asked the question in a straightforward manner.
Rhonda replied that she is not the Doppelgänger. But it could be a lie so Phoenix then asked for name of the ones who were acting suspicious
Rhonda :
I dunno, maybe Samuel that shifty eyed turd been ogling the girls.
Phoenix :
What were you doing the entire day. And don't try lying I have access to the entire camera feed.
AND indeed it was true Phoenix had entire access to the feed. But because the sample size is large it is difficult to monitor everyone all at once.
Rhonda :
Well my day consists of monitoring the subject on the fourth floors. Observing test procedures and create a report at the end.
But today I entered and for some time it was fine but then the lights went out and the anomalies were free. There was a security announcement to hide around 12:55 I think.
I was hiding beneath my desk and cane out after her highness had been captured.
A. I :
The footage is consistent with the testimony. Her heart rate is normal but just slightly elevated no micro sweating. Overall there are no traits to indicate she is lying.
Phoenix :
Very well, then what....
Meanwhile Jay was overlooking in the situation.
The researchers were sitting on the floor because no one was permitted to move. If someone needed water. It would be served by Jay himself. They were temporarily made to hold their bladder. Only one at a time and they would be assisted by androids.
One by one the interviews continued and after 5 interviews Jay received a message from the android. That it had concluded it's search on the lower floors and there was a body found. It had been murdered in cold blood and had been dead for hours. The body was unidentifiable and bloodwork would take time.
The body was found in the Doppelgänger's room. The blood looks cleaned off.
When the third candidate was done with their interview. Jay entered the room and informed Phoenix of the dead body.
The question whodunnit had been already answered and the next question was howdunnit. And before they could answer the question.
The researchers were silently whispering. Reacting to the situation Jay stomped his foot on the ground so hard that the sound made him the center of attention.
Jay :
Quiet everyone. As I said the more you avoid compliance. The more delay we face. So I expect you to follow or I make an example out of you.
There was peace once again. They continued the interviews one by one but they couldn't find any trace all of their responses were normal. And even after recslibrstion of Ai the results were the same.
Phoenix had asked Ai to create a table for cross-referencing
And the name of suspicious person and how many times they were occurring had been cross matched.
And after another quick crosschecking their allibi's they were found to be consistent.
The last test was the stab test. And fortunately when conducted all of them were cleared of suspicion.
The most suspicious candidate was called in and just as they were inside Jay stabbed them and waited for 2 seconds he didn't change so he poured high potion and it was as if the wound was not even there.
Their pain was gone and they didn't even notice it. For the wound was already gone before they could even see it.
AND with that it was back to the drawing board.
Phoenix :
We are missing something. There isn't a single suspicious one.
Jay :
What is it had escaped. Or before the door opened.
Phoenix :
It's possible. Under disguise all the retinal scans and fingerprint would be same. But Doppelgänger by himself cannot escape this is an inside job.
Jay :
We can test this theory later is there anyone else. Anyone we can remember of.
Both of them racked their brains all at once. Retrscked their memories from the previous chapters. And there was one thing off that occurred in both of their minds which they had overlooked. Over a simple fact. That there were other researchers outside. But they didn't see any.
Jay :
That researcher who gave us this file. Do we know he's isn't a Doppelgänger.
Phoenix :
There were no researchers outside and their numbers seem to match the faculty.
Jay realized and stormed off the door. And upwards.
Phoenix :
I will overide the access and open the door temporarily. Find him. He won't have gone far there is only one route which leads outside and it takes about 1 hour from here.
Jay sprinted towards the elevator and arrived at the surface
Where he looked around. Jay lifted himself in the air into the direction Phoenix had told him to. Where it takes an hour to take off.
From the air he could see a fence gate and a guard station. Jay dived down and landed softly on the earth below. And one of the guards had been murdered in cold blood once again. With rpg blast in one of the guard station and from the guard station came a guard who was doused in blood.
In his hand a knife. Face smeared with blood with a few cuts on his face.
Doppelgänger :
You're here to stop me aren't you.
Jay :
We can talk this out.
The Doppelgänger removed a had which was similar to the suicide man and when he did he turned into suicide man.
