Chapter Four Hundred Eighty-Nine
HUFF!!
Early in the morning, the girl suddenly sat up!
After a deep breath, she gasped for a while, then instinctively clutched at her chest.
Then...
Her enchanting eyes were full of confusion as she instinctively looked around.
The decrepit room, with exposed copper pipes on the walls, was clearly meant for heating. Near the pipes, the wallpaper was corroded and full of water rust, with many bumps protruding. Underneath her was a single bed with a mattress that had obviously seen better days; lying on it felt uneven, and moving slightly made the bed creak noisily.
She cautiously stretched her feet out to touch the floor. It was cold beneath her; it was worn wooden flooring with much of the paint peeled off.
At that moment, three questions that philosophers might have asked themselves countless times over the millennia naturally came to mind.
Who am I?
Where am I?
What am I doing?
