Haru grabbed Asaki's left hand and told her to stop. Haru was still sad about what happened to Ren. He wanted to cry but couldn't. All he could do was let out words with a sound that resembled that of someone who just attended a funeral.
His tone was kind of harsh to the ears of the listeners around him. Having regained some of his strength, he stood up, leaving Asaki moping on the ground. He looked around for the stairs that they came from and was headed for it. Maebara was the one closest to the stairs so as soon he saw Haru headed towards the stairs, he immediately stopped Haru. He grabbed Haru's shoulder from behind and turned Haru around towards him.
"Hey Haru, where do you think your going?", Maebara asked in a slightly angered tone. He knew what Haru was going to do and found it irritating.
"Let go of me, Maebara.", Haru said with a low but serious voice.
"If your gonna look for Ren, then we do it together!", Maebara shouted angrily. He also wanted to know what happened to Ren.
"Huh...You think I'm going to just look for Ren? Your wrong. I'm gonna open up that door like a tin can and drag Ren out of there. Then I'll have Shirakawa over there treat him. Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. So let go of me before I break that arm of yours."
Maebara was shocked to hear that Haru would say such a thing.
"Haru...you..."
Haru pushed aside Maebara's arm and turned around, heading for the stairs. Before he could even step on one of the stairs, Drey stopped him from a distance.
"Haru...it's pointless if you go back there.", Drey said in a convincing tone.
"Like I care...", Haru mumbled to himself and continued on his way but was again stopped.
"No matter what you do, that door won't open anymore.", Drey said as he slowly approached Haru.
"He's right, Haru.", said a voice from a distance.
It was Takeshi who backed Drey's claim. He said it hoping to convince Haru to stop.
"Is that so?", Haru said with a louder voice compared to his tone just a moment ago.
Haru suddenly disappeared from where he was standing and quickly reappeared in front of Takeshi. He then grabbed a part of Takeshi's attire in his neck and lifted him. Just two steps behind Takeshi was a wall. As Haru lifted Takeshi, he placed Takeshi against the wall.
"Then why don't you tell us what happened in there, Takeshi!", Haru yelled as his mood changed.
As Haru's loud voice echoed throughout the room, the knights and heroes on watch turned their focus on the source of the noise. The others who were already watching got shocked at Haru's behavior.
"What do you mean, Haru?", Takeshi answered while attempting to break free of Haru's hold. Some knights tried to separate Haru and Takeshi but was stopped at their tracks by Haru's threat.
"Move another step and this piece of meat I'm holding will be finely chopped that you can have him as a meal as we travel back to Friandal!", Haru said with a voice as if he was ready to kill someone.
The knights couldn't afford making Haru go berserk so they just stopped and backed off.
"Now, Takeshi...tell me what happened inside there.", Haru asked as he lifted Takeshi higher.
"I don't have anything to tell you! Let go of me!", Takeshi screamed in distress.
"You didn't think that I wouldn't notice, huh...Takeshi"
As soon as Takeshi heard what Haru said, he was silent and was reluctant to say another word. He began to think to himself, crazily.
'Noticed...What does he mean noticed? Don't tell me he saw me stab Ren?'
"You left Ren to die on his own. Am I right, Takeshi?
'Huh...', Takeshi thought to himself. ' Left to die? What is this guy talking about? Wait...Left to die? So that means Haru didn't see me stab Ren.' As Takeshi processed the information inside his head, he slowly calmed down.
"Answer me, Takeshi!", Haru again asked while shaking Takeshi.
"That's enough, Haru!", Drey yelled. "Put Takeshi down", he added.
"This doesn't concern you Captain.", Haru answered.
"Haru, calm yourself down! We can't solve anything with violence.", Amaki said in succession to Haru's statement.
As Haru heard what Amaki said, he turned his head towards Amaki with a furious face. But as he turned his attention to Amaki, he saw Asaki who was still moping on the ground. Seing Asaki's sad state, Haru got reminded of how he felt when he saw Ren smiling at him. In an instance, Haru slowly let down Takeshi. He stepped backward a few steps and stood in silence.
"I'll return first to Friandal and think about what I had done. I already know the route and with my speed, I'll reach it at least before dark. Don't stop me."
As Haru left his last words, he disappeared and reappeared outside above a tree. He again disappeared and was out of sight this time.
"Haru!", Amaki yelled as he called out to the insanely fast Haru who just suddenly disappeared.
"Let him be, Amaki.", Drey said to reassure Amaki. "He didn't seem to be lying about going back to the Capital."
And as time pass, silence filled the entire room and everyone was still to know the truth about Ren's disappearance.
