Alex looked at the stack of books that was brought to him. They appeared old, made of stained parchment and beast hide as covers. He used his spiritual sense on them, but found the books themselves to be bound with Heavenly Silkthreads, so that was no use.
The only way to do it was to open the books and read them directly.
"Should I bring the books over right now?" the Wine God asked.
Alex turned around in surprise to see the man standing beside him. He hadn't realized that the old man hadn't left the room. He was sure he was going to leave to find the other books.
"No need," Bladedance answered. "I'll read these for now. We'll figure something out together."
It took him a moment to understand that the question wasn't directed toward him, but toward his master instead.
"You wanted to read some books of your own?" Alex asked.
