Alex opened his mud-crusted eyes and stared at the jute root above him. He felt his body submerged in mud and slowly pushed himself out.
He heard several movements around him and immediately his senses spread out, spanning distances he had never before sensed.
His senses easily crossed a thousand kilometers all around him, noticing each and every macro detail about the location he had come to. He appeared to be inside of a sect, with various cities surrounding further past him.
There were a few large forests to his left, and an ocean that went on forever to his right.
"You're hurt."
"You need to get back in."
A few voices spoke to him, but none sounded familiar. He unknowingly searched for a voice among them, one he had a feeling would be there, but it was not.
He turned toward the two women who had come up to him and noticed the tiny bumps on their foreheads. There were several people he had already noticed with his spiritual senses by now that had similar bumps.
