Alex looked around for the old man and found him leagues away in the sky, a tiny dot of blackness that could easily be missed underneath the constantly swirling and shimmering sky.
"Senior! You need to get down here!" he shouted at the old man, but at this distance, he wasn't sure if the old man had heard him or not.
He called for him again, but after not seeing any movement, he had to go over to him. Only… he didn't want to leave Death. What if he walked away and she reverted back to her old self once she realized she was alone?
It was a good thing he brought Whisker along with him.
Alex brought out Whisker, who appeared on his right shoulder, and gave him the order. "Whisker, go tell the seni—"
Before Alex could finish his words, sword Qi formed around Whisker in an instant, shredding his body on the spot, leaving behind nothing but chunks of flesh that dripped down the side of Alex's clothes.
