At first, Kolvar the blacksmith assumed Alice would have a request suited to a girl of her appearance. He never imagined the young girl would be seeking tools that only hunters and adventurers typically asked for.
True to his role as a businessman, Kolvar asked Alice how much she was willing to spend on the tools she was looking for, even as he was already planning to give her a discount.
Confused, Alice did some quick mental math and held up her right hand with five fingers extended. Although five silver coins weren't much, Kolvar decided to be generous and offer her some of his decent-quality steel work. That thought, however, was interrupted by the girl's next words: "I can't spend more than fifty gold coins."
