The sound of glasses shattering had distracted Diego and his men and their first instinct was to hide behind the table to avoid being shot at. They had to know where Nik was coming from, but the shots had already been fired. It wasn't one shot, and it wasn't two shots that were fired.
Nikolai Orlov had fired three instant shots at the most unexpected target of the day, and he seemed so willing to fire at the whole company. Maybe he was angry at someone in here, but did the person know that they were on Nik's hit list?
Granted Alexander was the most obvious target of the James siblings, but then he hadn't been a target today, which could only explain why there was too much confusion in this room.
Whatever had just happened was unexpected and as Alex would learn, he had lost more than the damned company would ever be able to give him. He didn't know how he would approach Viktor and tell him that his brother wasn't really a target.
