Kimberly was in her room writing music when her dad stormed into her room. Kimberly looked up and saw her dad and noticed her mom right behind him.
Kimberly's dad: What are you doing!?
Kimberly: I'm writing music. Is that a problem dad?
Kimberly's dad: Yes it is because I got a call from one of your teachers saying that you are not paying attention in class.
Kimberly: Look I'm sorry. But I'm not interested in school. Everytime I try and focus my mind seems to be somewhere else.
Kimberly's dad: That's because you spend to much time writing that stupid music.
Kimberly's mom: Dominic, stop. It's what she loves to do.
Dominic: Jessica, stay out of this.
Kimberly: Dad, why can't you just leave me alone? You never want me do to what I love.
Dominic: That is because you are doing something different. In our neighborhood, music is different.
Kimberly: Then how about I move out? Let me move to South Korea like I want to.
Dominic: But how will you get there? It's a lot of money just for one plane ticket.
Kimberly: Good thing I saved up some money to buy one if you let me move out.
Dominic: And why would I?
Jessica: I think that's a good idea Kimberly!
Kimberly: Thanks mom.
Dominic: No it's not.
Kimberly: It's 2 votes against 1, dad. But please let me go. So that way you don't have to worry about having me in the house with something you don't like. I will take my music with me.
Dominic: What is it with you and not understanding the concept of music is different?
Kimberly: Just because it's different doesn't mean you can't support me like mom does! Music means everything to me! And mom is the only one who sees it!
Dominic: So what!?
Kimberly: You never supported me! All you want me to do is to become a stupid lawyer like your father was! But that's not what I want to be!!
Dominic: Well the music industry doesn't let women like you in, it never has!
Kimberly: Maybe it's time for a change! Starting with me moving out! And I'm going to Korea!
Dominic: You are not moving out!!
Kimberly: OH yes I am!
And with that, Kimberly's dad slapped her across the face. Leaving a red mark on her cheek. And her dad left the room. Kimberly's mom walked up to her and hugged her.
Jessica: Don't worry about what your dad says. Pack your bags. I will give you a ride to the airport.
Kimberly: What about dad?
Jessica: Don't worry about him. I will take care of him.
Kimberly: What if something bad happens to you?
Jessica: I will be fine.
And soon, Kimberly was ready with all her bags ready, even though it was only two suitcases and a backpack.
Jessica: Do you have everything?
Kimberly: Yes I do.
Jessica: Then let's head to the airport.
-time skip-
Once at the airport, Kimberly and her mom walked up to the counter to buy a one way ticket to Seoul, South Korea. After that, Kimberly's mom walked her to the gate. Kimberly hugged her mom tightly, not wanting to let go.
Jessica: It's okay. I'll be fine. Go get on your plane. Call me when you get there?
Kimberly: I will. I love you mom.
Jessica: I love you too Kim.💜 Stay safe.
Kimberly: I will mom.
Kimberly went and boarded her plane knowing that she is leaving her mom behind with a violent father. She feels bad for leaving her, but she knows that she will be calling her mom on FaceTime each night. So she will still have communication with her mom. But she hopes she doesn't have to see her father again. Soon, the plane takes off. And Kimberly is off to Korea.
