Eli's Pov :
I gulped as I looked around the restaurant for the nth time. Impatience began to seep slowly into my veins like a deadly venom, spreading its poison until my mind began to conjure up images of infidelity.
My girlfriend still wasn't here like we and agreed and I was beginning to doubt if she was coming at all.
Another glance at my small leather wrist watch and she was already more than an hour late now. The waiter approached me and I smiled politely.
"Sir, I'm sorry but we're short on tables and I don't think your appointment will be showing up so if you wouldn't mind...."
Slowly, I stood up and was just about to make my way towards the door when I saw her. She was in a mid-thigh crimson dress with a plunging neckline. She looked so beautiful as she strode towards me with a pretty smile on her face.
Elena.
"OMG, I kept you waiting", she said as she immediately took a seat.
"I got stuck in traffic, God....it was so bad"
But there haven't been any traffic jams in over two weeks.
"Oh okay, no problem at all. I just arrived myself so I didn't wait for long anyway", I smiled, even though all I wanted to do was get up and get the hell out of the restaurant.
Maybe there had been an early evening traffic jam. It happens sometimes. Elena wouldn't lie to me. She was the single most sweetest person I've ever met. So caring that she wouldn't have the heart to hurt me. I love her so much and she loves me too.
"Shall we order then?", she asked with that same old fake smile. It pierced my heart any time she did that. It made me wonder if she truly did love me.
Of course Eli, she loves you. Why else would you guys be dating?
"Sure Elena", I said with a smile of my own.
However, I didn't miss the hickey she was spotting on the left side of her neck the moment she entered the restaurant but I still didn't say a word.
Elena is my girlfriend, someone that I truly adore and love. For the past three years, I have had eyes for no one but her, doing everything to please her and make her happy.
We ordered, and didn't even make small talk even though this was supposed to be a date. I was so bored of just sitting here and eating that my eyes trailed from our table and my breath immediately hitched. My jaw nearly dropped at the figure I saw entering the restaurant.
He was looking handsome in a Gucci shirt and black trousers, a Chanel CC earring on his left ear. He looked like he didn't give a care in the world.
His rich cologne wafted to my nostrils and I didn't even know I had closed my eyes.
"Are you okay?", Elena asked?
"Hm?...oh y-yeah. I was just savoring the grilled beef ribs is all", I said
That was the first lie I'd ever told Elena.
She smiled.
My eyes darted back around the restaurant but I didn't see the handsome man anymore.
Maybe he left.
I resorted to finishing my meal instead when a heard an electrifying voice just beside our table.
"I'll take Lobster, stuffed Rigatoni, Carrot purée and corn sabayon", he said with a quirk of an eyebrow. I found myself staring at his beautiful face, my eyes glued to every ridge and sharp edges.
Corn saba-what now?.
"And a glass of 2000 Masseto Toscana IGT", he added.
The waiter smiled and then immediately disappeared.
What in the Lord's name is a Mazeto Tuscana?
Almost immediately, the waiter was back with a glass of red wine.
"Mr Lockheart, your order will soon be ready" he whispered and then he was gone once again.
He's a Lockheart?...HE IS A FREAKING LOCKHEART!
I took my eyes off his face for an instant only to meet Elena's eyes. She gave me a weird look that meade me feel stupid and then her eyes darted to his face. Her cheeks tinted a pale rosy pink and I couldn't help but notice.
Why the he'll is she blushing at him?. She never blushes when she's with me!
She straightened her dress slightly and squared her shoulders making her luscious breasts even more prominent from the plunging neckline of her dress.
Uhm....what the hell was she doing?
Before Trevon could take notice of whatever was happening on my table however, I saw a beautiful petite brunette walk to his table.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting. I'm so sorry, my car broke down just around the corner and I couldn't walk here in my 6 inch heels so I had to grab a cab. I couldn't even get one because....", she blabbed on.
"Its okay, actually I just got here", he answered politely.
"Oh okay. Manners, I'm Sara Maldonado", she whispered softly.
"Trevon Lockheart"
She smiled at him and he gave her the menu.
The girl Sara ordered grilled ribeye beef with white Chardonnay and I saw them make small talk as they are.
Occasionally, the hot guy, Trevon would glance at me and then avert his attention back to his partner.
After our table was cleared, I saw theirs being cleared.
"What is your problem that you keep staring at that guy?", Elena asked me suddenly, making me abruptly turn towards her.
I didn't even know I had been staring at him all this while.
"It was really nice having dinner with you Trevon", Sara whispered with a giggle.
Trevon smiled and I felt myself being mesmerized.
Sara's phone rung and she picked up, giving a series of one word answers and then turning to Trevon with a serious expression.
"I'm sorry Trevon, but I just had an urgent call. Shall we do this again another time?", she asked desperately.
She will be clingy, don't date girls like that.
Trevon nodded and she briskly left the restaurant.
I turned to Elena and smiled.
"You've barely said a word since we arrived. Did you invite me here so that you could stare at another man?, she whisper-asked in an angry tone.
I was just about to reply with a no when-
"Its been so long Eli, you didn't tell me you're bisexual now. I thought we were gay for each other".
My eyes widened as I turned to the voice.
Trevon Lockheart?. How did he know my name?. I am not bisexual or gay. What is he doing?
He had a beautiful smirk on his face as he watched my confused expression.
