"You're the only one in the entire venue who made chilled jelly, very impressive. Among all these meat dishes, your refreshing jelly is a perfect palate cleanser. And you added hawthorn, that's very thoughtful."
...
When it was Ding Ruyun's turn, she made meatballs.
"I made three-color meatballs. The brown one is beef, the white one is fish, and the green one is chicken mixed with spinach juice," Ding Ruyun explained. "The broth is made from chicken stock."
Gu Changfeng nodded, scooping up a beef meatball along with some chicken broth.
He tasted the broth first before biting into the beef meatball.
The moment he bit into it, juice burst out from the inside.
Yet, the flavor seemed strikingly familiar.
"What did you add to the beef meatball?" Gu Changfeng asked.
"I added cuttlefish paste and a gelatin made from chicken skin," Ding Ruyun replied.
Gu Changfeng raised an eyebrow and said, "I have to say, this taste is quite familiar to me."
